Memorial Healthcare System Achieves New Cardiac Milestone! We are excited to announce that we have successfully completed our first lead extraction! 💙 Lead extractions are a medical procedure that removes old or infected pacemaker or defibrillator wires and can be the difference between life and death for some cardiac patients. This achievement makes Memorial one of the few centers in South Florida that can perform lead extractions and provide our patients with leading arrhythmia care. Huge thanks to the incredible care team of Fergie J. Losiniecki MD, FACC, FHRS electrophysiologist, and John Nicholas "Nick" Melvan, MD, PhD, FACS, FACC, cardiac surgeon, along with our Cath Lab team at Memorial Regional Hospital for working together to achieve this milestone.
