Across our hubs employees volunteered their time at local food banks-- in MN we spent a few hours with our friends at Second Harvest Heartland packing thousands of meals for folks in need. A lot of 🥔, 🥣(oats) and other items will serve families who are looking for a hand-up during these challenging times. Medica is a proud partner of Second Harvest Heartland working to help reduce food insecurity in our communities.

🎉Congratulations to our fabulous Chief Financial Officer, Krista Dusil, for her well deserved recognition of being named one of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ) 2025 CFOs of the year! 🎉The awards honor outstanding financial leaders at Twin Cities organizations of all sizes and recognize CFOs as crucial company leaders. A judging panel of other financial executives and specialists evaluates nominees, who are scored on their contributions to their companies and the broader community. 🎉 Since becoming CFO, Krista has helped Medica establish a robust operational foundation that positions our organization, and our members for future growth and sustainable financial performance.
I’m honored to share that I’ve been named one of the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award recipients. This recognition means a great deal, especially in a year when the healthcare industry has been tested on every front. Leading through uncertainty has reminded me why I’m grateful to be at a mission-driven nonprofit—where decisions ultimately come down to one thing: doing what’s right for our members. I’m deeply thankful for the talented, committed team I get to work with every day and eternally grateful for my family and partner, whose support makes everything possible. I’m proud of the work we do at Medica, all that we’ve accomplished and energized for what’s ahead!

⭐⭐⭐ What a night ⭐⭐⭐
The Medica team had a great time over the weekend supporting our friends at Nexus Family Healing during their "Night for Nexus: Hope Shines Bright" event. Medica was a proud sponsor of the evening and is a proud community partner with Nexus Family Healing which is a national nonprofit mental health organization restoring hope for thousands of children and families by providing community mental health therapy, crisis and stabilization, foster care and adoption, and residential treatment.

Last week, Medica's leaders — Keith Tanski, Chief Information Officer; Josh Gustafson, Wisconsin Market President; Justin Barnes, Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture; John Stanoch, Medica Board Chair; and members from our HR team — had the privilege of touring Morgridge Hall, the brand new, state-of-the-art home of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences (CDIS). We had great conversations about our growing partnership, Medica’s local presence in the Madison community, and how we can continue to invest in the next generation of tech talent — through mentorship, internships, and future hiring opportunities for UW students. A heartfelt thank you to Nick Jaeger and Justin Hines from CDIS for the warm welcome, engaging tour, and thoughtful dialogue. We’re not sure which was more exciting — the energy around how we can innovate together, or the soccer-playing robots! ⚽🤖

BJC Health System|Saint Luke's recently won an 🏆 for Member Engagement demonstrating their year over year progress in reaching out to patients in new, digital ways and boosting preventative care visits for their thousands of patients. Medica recognized their efforts at our 8th Annual Provider Partnership Summit in early October. Well done!
