MHS was honored to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for the South Bend Heritage Foundation’s new permanent supportive housing complex, SB Thrive, marking an important milestone in expanding housing access for vulnerable individuals and families in the community. This project includes designated units for homeless pregnant mothers, addressing a critical community need by providing safe and stable housing for vulnerable populations. As part of this initiative, MHS provided a $100,000 sponsorship to the South Bend Heritage Foundation in support of the construction. In recognition of this contribution, the Community Room will be named in honor of MHS and there will be commemorative signage within the facility. MHS is proud to collaborate with community partners who share our commitment to improving quality of life and fostering long-term stability for Hoosiers. We are deeply honored to be part of a project that creates lasting, positive impact in the lives of families who need it most! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gtUYxsXV

This October, MHS volunteers rolled up their sleeves to support our local community through two meaningful Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity projects. On October 8th, our volunteers joined Habitat to help complete painting projects for two new homes, focusing on both interior and exterior work. We were especially grateful to have two future homeowners join us that day, making it a wonderful reminder of the lives being touched through these efforts! Then on October 17th, another dedicated group of MHS volunteers returned to support two more homes. They measured cut, and installed baseboards to help bring these houses one step closer to becoming homes! At MHS, giving back is part of who we are. During this Season of Giving, we’re proud to support our fellow Hoosiers! #SeasonOfGiving #HabitatForHumanity #CommunityEngagement

October is Health Literacy Month, a vital time to highlight how understanding healthcare information empowers Hoosiers to make informed decisions about their health. Health literacy isn’t just about reading healthcare pamphlets — it’s about effectively communicating and understanding health information to improve outcomes. At MHS, we’re committed to making healthcare accessible and understandable. When our members truly understand their care, they’re more likely to follow treatment plans and engage confidently with providers, leading to healthier, more informed decisions. Let’s work together this October to bridge the gap in health literacy and create a healthier Indiana! #HealthLiteracyMonth #HoosierHealth

Angel recently joined Christina Lucas Hage on WISH-TV to discuss MHS Serves, our initiative that invests in organizations dedicated to expanding access to youth mental health care.
