Earlier this year, we held our first pitch competition, The LA Resilient Rebuilding Cup, which aimed to find startups ready to deploy technology that can aid in the rebuilding of fire-impacted communities across Los Angeles. From the competition, many new founders entered our ecosystem, wanting to be a part of this new initiative. From disaster response and near-term rebuilding to long-term risk reduction and preparedness, 14 new companies will gain one-on-one executive coaching and mentorship, support for fundraising and investor relations, facilitated partnerships for pilot opportunities, and access to state-of-the-art facilities. This group of founders represents an urgent and meaningful response on multiple fronts. 🧺🔋 It was a pleasure supporting the launch of this exciting new project with Family Laundry in the City of Oakland. The project, which brings solar, batteries, and integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure to Family Laundry's pickup and delivery service, is the latest addition to our City Climate Innovation Challenge.
