The smell of home-cooked food filled La Casa Norte last week as our youth participated in cooking classes taught by Destined Joy Kreations. Beyond learning recipes, participants are gaining life skills — from meal prep and food safety to budgeting and collaboration. Falconer Elementary School in Belmont Cragin showed incredible community spirit this month with their “Socktober” drive to support La Casa Norte! They set a goal of collecting 500 pairs of new socks - and they surpassed it, donating 746 pairs for LCN youth and families. Socks are one of our most-requested items, especially as temps drop, and this kindness will go a long way. Thank you, Falconer students and families, for sharing warmth and hope this season. Our Fair Housing Pool Community Resource Fair was a huge success! 🎉 Held at the Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) agency on October 20, the event brought together clients, program managers, and community partners for an afternoon of connection and opportunity. Eighteen clients joined us to explore housing, workforce, and financial resources—taking the next steps toward their personal and professional goals. We even capped it off with a fun raffle!
