Strong reading begins before students ever open a book. Clear articulation of speech sounds lays the foundation for orthographic mapping, the process that helps students connect sounds to letters and store words in long-term memory. Without this foundation, decoding and fluent reading are much harder. That’s why the Science of Reading emphasizes explicit instruction in phonemic awareness and phonics. When students can hear, produce, and recognize sounds accurately, they can connect them to print and unlock meaning. With RedThread Literacy, we integrate articulation support, decodable texts, and structured routines that help students map sounds to letters with confidence. The result: stronger decoding, greater fluency, and more joyful reading. 📘 Learn more about how RedThread brings the Science of Reading to life. https://lnkd.in/gsVdg6uj #ScienceOfReading #OrthographicMapping #Literacy #K12Education #RedThread

Mistakes are the perfect opportunities to build stronger, more capable thinkers. Across the United States, math scores are slipping, and math anxiety is negatively affecting students as early as elementary school. In an Education Week op-ed, K12 Coalition’s Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Wendy Amato, shares why celebrating student errors in math can deepen understanding and confidence. These practical strategies help students see mistakes as part of the learning process. She shares that, “by celebrating and spotlighting errors rather than fearing or hiding them, we equip students to develop confidence, curiosity, and lifelong resilience in math, and maybe life.” Read the full piece here: https://lnkd.in/gYWmzi2J. #Education #K12Coalition #MathSupport #MathMistakes

Petersburg City Public Schools Kay Currie, M.Ed. Hosted a lunch event with iteach on their workday. Teachers needing to get their license- met, collaborated, celebrated and asked questions moving them forward in their program. It was a privilege to be a part of this event. The energy and excitement was overwhelming and encouraging hearing stories about their classrooms and how much they are learning in our program. New teachers feel supported by Passage Preparation helping them prepare for their Praxis. Teaching Channel videos on classroom management were a favorite learning daily strategies and tools for managing a classroom. Teaching is a rewarding and challenging profession so I’m grateful to support these educators on their journey because our children deserve the best! #teaching #teachinglicense #professionallearning #educators #schoolleaders
