This Global Entrepreneurship Week, we’re proud to launch the latest Entrepreneurship Indiana Yearbook. Thursday evening at the Indiana Statehouse, we honored dozens of entrepreneurs from every region of our state. Entrepreneurs are the heartbeat of Indiana’s economy. From Main Street innovators to high-growth startups, their vision and resilience fuel jobs, strengthen communities and inspire pride across Indiana. Governor Mike Braun has made the success of Main Street entrepreneurs a priority. Together with Secretary of Commerce David Adams, the Indiana Small Business Development Center (Indiana SBDC), the new Office of Entrepreneurship, and the IEDC, the state is ensuring small businesses have the support they need to grow and thrive in every community. 📖 The Entrepreneurship Indiana Yearbook is a celebration of the people whose ideas and hard work are shaping Indiana’s future. #GEW2025

Wayne County secured $5.1 million to fuel neighborhood revitalization, including projects that will expand housing, eliminate blight and elevate quality of place. Business retention and expansion means celebrating Indiana companies that have shaped industries worldwide. Kovenant Liby, Senior Project Manager for the Business Development team's Southeast Region, visited Stant in Connersville alongside representatives from Ivy Tech Community College and the Fayette County Economic Development Group. They listened to Stant’s priorities and explored how we can continue supporting their growth at home. Stant, a global leader in the automotive supply chain, has called Connersville, Indiana, home since 1898. Today, their expertise in designing and manufacturing fuel, vapor and thermal management systems has led them to hold a global presence. Together, we’re committed to ensuring companies like Stant have the resources they need to thrive here in Indiana.

Indiana knows how to lift up and celebrate our Hoosier entrepreneurs! The Hoosier state is currently in 2ND PLACE on Global Entrepreneurship Network's leaderboard of most active states during Global Entrepreneurship Week! Muncie, Vincennes, Valparaiso, Elkhart, South Bend, Indianapolis and Crown Point have all made the Cities Leaderboard. Our friends at Muncie's Innovation Connector, Inc., The Pantheon, Startup South Bend - Elkhart and Valparaiso University Innovation Hub are all ranked on the Partners Leaderboard. #GEW2025

🏫✨ Breathing new life into historic schools, together. Across the Accelerate Rural Indiana region, communities are joining forces to reimagine seven vacant schools into places where Hoosiers in the region can learn, live and grow. From new childcare in Greensburg to affordable housing in Rushville, apartments in Milroy and a retail incubator in Batesville, these projects honor the past while building a brighter future: 👶 Greensburg Learning Center: 168 new childcare seats in a former elementary school 🏠 St. Mary’s School in Greensburg: Apartments, short-term rentals and event space 🏘️ Rushville: Haven School transformed into affordable apartments + new housing on the Graham Middle School lot 🏡 Milroy: Historic Milroy School repurposed into apartments 🛍️ Batesville: Ward one-room schoolhouse redeveloped into a retail incubator With support from the Lilly Endowment and READI, this $29 million regional effort is proof that when towns work together, heritage becomes opportunity. What once stood silent will now serve as anchors of hope, pride and possibility for generations of Hoosiers.

🪏 Indiana’s regions are proving what’s possible when we invest together. Evansville Regional Economic Partnership is showing that here. The Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana Discovery Center shows how READI partnerships strengthen our talent pipeline and create lasting impact for communities statewide.

Southern Indiana was well represented at Louisville Business First's EDGE: Economic Development & Growth Exchange event last Friday. The IEDC was represented along with River Ridge Development Authority's Marc Hildenbrand, One Southern Indiana Chamber & Economic Development's John T. Launius, Indiana University Southeast's Joe Glover, and many others from the region. Regional cooperation is shaping Southern Indiana’s future, and John Launius captured that momentum while part of a panel with Marc Hildenbrand. Launius underscored how regions working together under Gov. Mike Braun's administration and leaning into the Hoosier state's logistics advantage is fueling bold plans for growth.
