Meet Irving Castro, a key player behind the technology and teamwork that brings IBX events to life. For more than six years, Irving has ensured that everything from town halls to external conferences runs smoothly. Managing over 100 conference rooms at 1901 and supporting hybrid events is no small feat, but Irving credits his team for their shared mantra: stay cool, calm, and collected. Shout out to Andy, Chris, Cliff, Edward, and Victor for making it all look easy. Irving’s story with IBX started long before his first day on the job. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Philadelphia, he remembers visiting his dad at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange building on Market Street as a kid. Today, working in that same building feels like a full-circle moment. What truly sets IBX apart for Irving is the culture. “IBX feels like family,” he says. “From the warm hello from Ms. Gail every morning to the support of my team, there’s a sense that we’re all in this together.” He describes IBX as a beautiful melting pot where people come from all walks of life, backgrounds, and beliefs — and where growth is a priority. By utilizing programs like Independence University and Building Blocks, Irving believes that when you grow, IBX grows too. Outside of work, Irving is a proud dad of four, a musician, and is deeply involved in his family’s nonprofit, Amparo de la Ninez, which has served children in Philadelphia for over 30 years.
