What are you grateful for today? When I was visiting our Malaysia team, I asked them this question in the spirit of promoting positivity. Their responses reminded me how much gratitude shows up in the meaningful relationships we have and in the work that gives us purpose, growth and the chance to make a real impact. With Thanksgiving around the corner in the U.S., it’s natural to pause and reflect. I also think this time is a reminder of how important it is to practice gratitude every day, no matter the season. I truly believe that the more we notice the good around us, the more of it we create. I’m grateful for this team, for the culture we’re building together, and for the opportunity to lead a global organization filled with people who inspire me daily!

Last week, I had the privilege of joining business and technology leaders from across the region at the 𝐆𝐁𝐒 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭, where the theme “Unleashing GBS 5.0: Human-Centric, AI-Driven, Impact-Focused” set the tone for powerful discussions about the future of global business services. I was honored to sit on the panel “𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬, 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡,” alongside Ryan Kang, Philip Tan, Nitin Mendon, Tc Chiew S. and Phil Captain. It was a pleasure to share the stage with these leaders for such an insightful discussion. A highlight of the week was meeting 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚’𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝐘𝐁 𝐆𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐨, who officiated the event and took time to learn about Horizontal and our mission. His openness and respect were deeply appreciated. I gifted him “The AI-Driven Leader”, a book I often recommend because it discusses how AI should serve as a thought partner, not a replacement for human judgment, and articulates something I strongly believe: the future belongs to leaders who know how to pair technology with empathy, creativity and trust. Of course, none of this would’ve been possible without the incredible Horizontal team representing us on the ground. Their energy at our booth and throughout the summit was infectious: they sparked meaningful conversations, connected with attendees and showcased what makes our culture so special. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: - 𝐆𝐁𝐒 𝟓.𝟎 𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. The sector is evolving from transactional support to strategic business enablement, anchored in AI, data and human ingenuity. - 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Malaysia’s partnership between GBS Malaysia and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia shows how academia and industry can unite to build future-ready skills. - 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. With over 66% growth in GBS companies and 36,000+ high-value jobs created, Malaysia has become a top-three global hub for business services. - 𝐄𝐒𝐆 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈 𝐠𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝. Sustainability and automation aren’t opposing forces, they’re the dual engines of long-term, purpose-driven transformation. - 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. The strongest advances happen when governments, universities and companies lock arms to scale local ideas globally. I left the conference feeling inspired by what’s happening across the ASEAN region: a powerful blend of innovation, inclusivity and ambition that’s shaping the next generation of global business services!
