ND Health & Human Services (HHS) team members work to help North Dakotans of all ages enhance their well-being and quality of life by supporting equitable access to the social determinants of health, which include economic stability, housing, education, food, community and health care. HHS promotes the state’s emergency readiness and response preparedness, achieves strategic outcomes using all available resources, strengthens stakeholder engagement and collaboration and manages emerging public health challenges.

  • Jacque Harder from our Fargo Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) office was awarded Career Achievement – 600 Club Award for placing over 600 people with disabilities into meaningful employment throughout her career. This is a truly remarkable distinction, as Jacque is the first-ever recipient of this award. Sheri Wilson from our Bismarck VR office for receiving the Career Achievement – 300 Club Award for placing over 300 people with disabilities into employment opportunities over the course of her career.   Angie Parr from our Bismarck VR office and Jennifer Reinke from our Fargo VR office for receiving the Career Achievement – 200 Club Award. Each counselor has placed over 200 people with disabilities into employment opportunities over the course of their career.   Congratulations, Jacque, Sheri, Angie and Jennifer!   • Growing up, Alissa never imagined she’d one day help others the way our Vocational Rehabilitation program helped her.   Diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 12, she found a path forward with our pre-employment transition services, which help students with disabilities ages 14 to 21 prepare for life after graduation.   Today, Alissa is a VR counselor, helping others with disabilities build skills, explore careers and reach their goals.   Read Alissa’s story here: https://lnkd.in/g76bX8D6
