Today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day, an annual global campaign aimed at raising awareness about a disease often diagnosed at a late stage. The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 67,000 Americans are expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2025. The pancreas is located deep in the abdomen which makes it more difficult for doctors to find the tumor during a physical exam. Further, pancreatic cancer symptoms are usually faint, emphasizing the importance of knowing your risk factors and talking to your provider about available tests. Don’t have a provider? Did you know that most lung cancers do not cause symptoms until they have spread outside of the lungs? Screening for lung cancer can help identify cancer in those who aren’t facing symptoms. A low dose CT (LDCT) scan is used to screen people at a higher risk for lung cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends yearly LDCT scans for people ages 50 to 80 years who smoke or used to smoke and have at least a 20 pack-year history of smoking. Yearly LDCT scans for high risk individuals could significantly increase outcomes for lung cancer. Talk to your primary care doctor about screening for lung cancer every year. #NationalLungCancerAwarenessMonth #GLINIPA #LifeisBetterwithGLIN

Celebrating Excellence: GLIN IPA recognizes and honors our Care Management team for their dedication and Remarkable Care Management Wins! Supporting Health, Access, and Stability for Vulnerable Patients Leslie, CM RN, has been actively supporting a patient with uncontrolled diabetes and multiple complex medical conditions. The patient had been struggling to schedule an endocrinology appointment, which Leslie successfully helped coordinate. She is also in the process of arranging a podiatry visit for a diabetic foot evaluation and assisting with a referral to a bariatric surgery clinic. The patient recently completed a nutrition consult with the GLIN IPA clinical nutritionist, and has also been connected with counseling services to address depression. Leslie also provided extensive diabetes education to support the patient’s self-management. Additionally, food and housing insecurities were addressed by connecting the patient with appropriate community resources. In recent months, Leslie has also supported at least five (5) other patients who reported difficulty attending medical appointments due to transportation barriers, despite having Medicaid coverage. She collaborated with their primary care providers to connect them with Medicaid transportation services and provided education on how to schedule and utilize these rides effectively. From Barriers to Breakthroughs: Coordinated Care in Action Over the past few months, Jenn, CM RN, has been able to help several patients facing transportation barriers. She helped ensure they have ongoing access to their medications by enrolling them with the Riverview Pharmacy delivery services. Jenn coordinated with a PCP to facilitate a sleep study for their CCM patient who was in need of updated CPAP equipment. The patient had been using an outdated machine, which was negatively impacting sleep quality and overall well-being. The patient expressed gratitude for the support, noting that they had previously been unsuccessful in getting the much needed sleep study scheduled. #CareManagement #Teamwork #MakingADifference #GLINIPA #LifeisBetterwithGLIN #HealthcareHeroes #CommunityCare

🌟 Our employee spotlight is shining on Luke Littler, one of GLIN IPA’s talented Financial Analysts! Luke brings precision, curiosity, and a passion for problem-solving to everything he does, both in and out of the office. “As a Financial Analyst, I support a wide range of financial operations that help drive informed decision-making across the organization. From managing provider payments and vendor invoices to assisting with budgeting and policy development, I enjoy using data to uncover insights that support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.” Luke’s path to finance was shaped by a lifelong love of numbers and a pivotal internship. “I’ve always been drawn to math and analysis, but it wasn’t until my senior year of college, during an internship at Ivoclar, that I realized I wanted to be a Financial Analyst. My mentor gave me hands-on experience across the finance department, and I knew I’d found my calling. With a mom in healthcare, working in healthcare finance felt like the perfect fit.” When it comes to staying motivated, Luke has a clear formula: “I stay busy, take pride in my work, and make time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished. That balance keeps me grounded and inspired.” One thing that surprised him about GLIN IPA? “How easy it is to be yourself. The culture here encourages professionalism without sacrificing personality. It’s a place where you can bring your full self to work and feel like you belong.” Outside the office, Luke channels his creativity into cooking. “I’m passionate about making homemade meals—handmade pasta, parmesan risotto, arancini, and steak with red wine sauce are some of my favorites. Cooking is a lot like finance: it’s about precision, experimentation, and the satisfaction of seeing something come together.” And as a self-proclaimed foodie, working in downtown Buffalo is a bonus. “There’s always a new restaurant to try or a hidden gem to discover. It keeps things exciting and inspires my own kitchen adventures.” We’re proud to have Luke on the team and grateful for the energy, insight, and authenticity he brings to GLIN IPA every day. #EmployeeSpotlights #GLINIPA #LifeIsBetterWithGLIN #FinanceTeam #BuffaloProfessionals #HealthcareFinance

Today marks the first day of November and Movember, an annual global campaign that focuses on raising funds and awareness for men’s health issues, including mental health, suicide, prostate and testicular cancer. In the US, approximately 4 in 5 suicides are men but only 1 in 4 men seek mental health treatment. Additionally, about 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15 through 39. Despite these numbers, men are statistically less likely to seek medical care compared to women. Through awareness and fundraising, Movember aims to address these issues. To learn more about the Movember impact and ways that you can get involved, visit https://us.movember.com/. #Movember2025 #menshealthissues #GLINIPA
