“It’s good to give back because you never know when you may need a meal yourself one day. To know you’re able to help people put food on their table means a lot to me.” — Tiffany C., Gleaners Volunteer Tiffany has volunteered regularly at Gleaners for almost a year. She’s done it all—packing boxes for Drive-Up Distributions, assembling crates of fresh produce, greeting new volunteers, and answering phone calls as part of Match Day phone banks. 📦🥦👋☎️ In this season of gratitude, we’re especially thankful for our community of volunteers like Tiffany, generous supporters, partners, team members, and everyone working together to provide hope for neighbors facing food insecurity. 💚 🌟 When plates are full, hearts are full — and that’s where you come in. Now through November 26, Ford Philanthropy is matching your gift, so don’t miss the chance to double your impact here: https://lnkd.in/gh-SqBtx

Meet Gleaners Volunteer, Bobby 🌟 Bobby has been a regular volunteer at Gleaners’ South Campus and Fresh Market since July 2024. Currently in his first year of medical school, Bobby still chooses to spend some of his rare days off volunteering with Gleaners. “I really wanted to give back to the community,” Bobby said. “I think with Gleaners, there’s that connection to the community.” 🤝 Now, as a seasoned volunteer, Bobby encourages others to sign up for a shift. “Don’t hesitate! Just come in and get involved. All the jobs are easy to pick up, and if you have any questions, everyone is willing to help wherever you might need it.” We’re so grateful for volunteers like Bobby who give generously of their time and talents to help make sure everyone in our community is nourished and supported. Thank you, Bobby! 🫶 Ready to get involved? Sign up for a volunteer shift here: https://bit.ly/3LRbR0N

🍽️ "When we talk about food aid, too often we reduce it to numbers and programs. But food is far more than calories or policy. It’s how we welcome neighbors, celebrate milestones and heal when life breaks our hearts. Across cultures and faiths, food is sacred. It’s how we extend care and dignity to one another, how we prove each day that we see and value each other as human beings." - Angelique Power (president & CEO of The Skillman Foundation) and Gerry Brisson (Gleaners' president & CEO) Click here to read more about Angelique Power and Gerry Brisson's response to the lapse in SNAP funding: https://bit.ly/4oSVx11
