Christopher Stock, CUSP, ASP knows first-hand why something as simple as sending a holiday card around the globe can have an impact that lasts forever. Before joining Eversource’s Safety Dept., he was stationed with the US Army in South Korea. Check out this WMUR-TV story to hear why veterans like him still talk about the holiday greetings they got while overseas. Safety isn’t just part of the job—it’s who we are. When our Gas Meter Mechanic Matthew Hansen witnessed a pedestrian accident on his way to a service job in Meriden, he didn't hesitate. Guided by his safety training, he pulled over, turned on his hazard lights and applied pressure to her wounds until emergency responders arrived. “With the regular training we get in CPR, first aid, Stop the Bleed and our procedures for using vehicles to protect people, you get a sense of responsibility. We put a high priority on safety and protecting people—whether coworkers or members of the public.” Check out the full story: http://spr.ly/60497ZvhP

One holiday tradition we always look forward to is getting to help Dr.Laura Landerman-Garber with the HOLIDAY CARDS 4 OUR MILITARY - NH CHALLENGE. Today, our employee Veterans Group, volunteers, and community friends sorted and packed more than 30,000 hand-written (or drawn!) holiday cards for service members stationed abroad. That’s only a portion of the ~250,000 holiday cards from across the country that the Challenge is sending to military bases in Japan, South Korea, and Germany—it gets bigger every year! A HUGE thank you to everyone who sent in cards. We know how much our heroes appreciate these holiday messages from home. Sometimes shampoo, toothpaste, and other hygiene essentials can make all the difference. We think everyone deserves a fresh start, and we hope these care kits filled with toiletries brighten the days of many of our NH neighbors in need. Thanks to Granite United Way and their partner organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester (pictured), our volunteers were able to assemble 500+ care kits that they’ll distribute to individuals in the communities we serve. ☀️ Thank you to our partners! - Liberty House NH - Families in Transition - Sonshine Soup Kitchen - Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester - 1269 Cafe
