  • New Species Alert! 🍄🔬 Big congratulations to our colleague, Dr. Gregorio Delgado, Mycology expert at Eurofins Built Environment Testing! We are thrilled to spotlight the incredible work of Dr. Delgado, who just published a major paper in the journal Mycologia, The Journal of The Mycological Society of America. Gregorio spent years conducting fieldwork in subtropical Texas, and his research has led to a massive discovery. He didn't just catalog what we already knew-he discovered and named three completely new genera and three new species of microfungi that were previously unknown to science! Using advanced molecular and electron microscopy techniques, he found brand new types of microfungi right in our own backyard that didn't have names yet-and now they do, thanks to him. This work is vital for understanding fungal biodiversity and the "family tree" of fungi in our ecosystem. It is a rare and impressive achievement to introduce 15 new classifications in a single paper. We are incredibly proud to have such deep scientific expertise on our team. Congratulations, Dr. Delgado! 👇 Link to read the paper in the comments #Mycology #Fungi #Eurofins #BuiltEnvironmentTesting #TestingForLife @Taylor & Francis Group

  • We are excited to share this insightful piece from our Director of Wastewater Surveillance, Adam Gushgari. While Adam is well-known for his work in wastewater epidemiology, his expertise extends deep into the intersection of the built environment and human health. In this article, he sets the stage for our upcoming four-part webinar series on Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs)-a critical topic for understanding environmental exposure pathways. Read his full thoughts below and join us for the series kickoff. 🗓 Webinar Date: December 9th 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/gAHk9RCC #Eurofins #EnvironmentalHealth #PublicHealth #EnvironmentTesting #TestingForLife

Director, Wastewater Surveillance - Eurofins Environment Testing | Portfolio Manager, Water Research and Innovation - Arizona State University

It may surprise some of you to know that my professional passions extend beyond wastewater surveillance. I’ve long been fascinated by the delicate intersection between human health and the built environment. Not only because of the profound impacts these interactions can have, but because this is one area where individual choices and conscious consumer habits can meaningfully shape our own well-being. That’s why I’m excited to share that over the next year, I’ll be hosting a four-part webinar series as part of Eurofins Environment Testing (USA)’s national webinar program. This series will focus on the science, exposure pathways, and health implications of endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) - a broad and often overlooked class of compounds, numbering in the thousands, that influence human development starting as early as infancy. To kick off the new series, I decided to put some initial thoughts into writing. I’ve published a new article that explores the topic, sets the stage for the upcoming series, and highlights why EDCs deserve more attention in our conversations about environmental health. I’m looking forward to diving deeper into this space and engaging with many of you as this series unfolds. Register for our first EDC webinar on December 9th here: https://lnkd.in/gAHk9RCC #Eurofins #PublicHealth #EDCs #Environment

  • PLM, PCM, TEM, XRD... it's not just an alphabet soup. Each method serves a critical purpose in asbestos analysis. Whether you need to: 🔹 Analyze bulk building materials (PLM, XRD, TEM) 🔹 Analyze soil or geologic sources (PLM, XRD, TEM) 🔹 Analyze complex consumer products like cosmetics (PLM, TEM, XRD) 🔹 Conduct air monitoring for OSHA or EPA clearance (PCM, TEM) 🔹 Meet stringent AHERA requirements for school clearances (TEM) ...our labs have the full suite of accredited methods. We follow all EPA and OSHA requirements, including the analysis of all layers of materials in drywall and roofing per NESHAP requirements. Don't just test—get the precise, legally defensible data you need. 🔗 Link in the comments to learn more! #Eurofins #Asbestos #BuiltEnvironmentTesting #TestingForLife

  • Asbestos is one of the leading occupational causes of death, with devastating diseases like mesothelioma sometimes taking 20+ years to appear. In buildings built before 1980, these fibers can be formulated into flooring, ceilings, insulation, and a host of cement products. Risk of exposure increases dramatically during demolition or renovation, when asbestos is disturbed and released into the air. You cannot identify asbestos visually. Professional laboratory analysis is the only way to ensure safety and compliance. Our NVLAP-accredited labs can isolate, identify, and quantify regulated asbestos, protecting your family, your team, the public, and your project.
