Thank you to the Broad Street Review for its glowing review of "Imprinted: Illustrating Race"! According to the reviewer, "Some exhibitions are stunning because of the artworks. But this one is also stunning in its scope and in the detail with which it assails and assays its ambitious and sensitive subject."

Iz Balleto, DelArt’s Cultural Programs Manager: “As a Peruvian, I also understand how much the Day of the Dead means to people from Mexico, but also to other indigenous nations. The point is to learn, to learn from ourselves and from our ancestors, because it’s important that we never forget who came before us.”

Our fall major exhibition, "Imprinted: Illustrating Race," opens this Saturday, October 18. Organized by the Norman Rockwell Museum, works by Norman Rockwell—including his iconic Civil Rights–era images—anchor the show and are presented in dialogue with historical and contemporary responses that deepen understanding of race, identity, and power in American visual culture. The exhibition is presented in Delaware by the Gilliam Foundation. As part of a special partnership between the two museums dedicated to expanding access to important narratives in American illustration, DelArt’s popular "Jazz Age Illustration" exhibition will be on display at the Norman Rockwell Museum from November 8 to April 6.
