Here’s something we know from our community oncology partners: It’s incredibly rewarding to play an integral role in the community. You make a difference in the very place your patients, physicians, staff, and their families live. Being recognized for those contributions takes the community connection up a notch, and can mean the world to those involved. That’s just what happened Wednesday night to our partners at Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN), at one of the most popular venues in Greater Las Vegas: A Vegas Golden Knights NHL hockey game. 🏒 Here’s some homemade video of the moment the Knights honored CCCN and Danielle, one of their wonderful patients, with a spot on the T-Mobile Arena big screen, featuring Executive Director Lisa Santwer, MBA. (You gotta love when Danielle says “I’ll be there!” when given Knights tickets.) 😃 🙌 We honor our partners at CCCN, and the care and connection they bring to patients every day. We’re here to help them deliver an optimal care experience for the oncologists, APPs, and patients throughout Las Vegas. (By the way, Knights won, 3-2.) 😀 #communityoncology #cancercare #hockeyfightscancer

❓ How do oncology leaders see the future of care? ❓ What does it mean for cancer care to be "deeply human?" That's just part of the discussion in our newest episode of **Beyond the Chart** (out today!) with special guest, Debra Patt, MD PhD MBA, breast oncologist, EVP at Texas Oncology, president of the Community Oncology Alliance, and chair of the AI Task Force for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). (Whew!) Matthew Ko, show host and DeepScribe founder and CEO, points out that few leaders see the full intersection of patient care, policy, workflow, and technology as Dr. Patt does. Early in the conversation, Dr. Patt discusses that moment of care - indeed an overlap of onocology, technology, and humanity: ➡️ “I don’t want patients to see the back of my head because I’m typing... I want to be present with them. Touch them when they cry, hand them a tissue, walk them through education.” 🫶 Dr. Patt explains how operating at the top of her license, and thoughtfully using digital tools, lets clinicians focus on emotional presence, personalized education, and helping patients navigate a difficult journey. This episode sets the stage for the broader conversation about what “nirvana” in oncology could become. 🎧 Listen to this one-of-a-kind talk with one of the most dynamic leaders in cancer care. 🎧 📻 **Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/edk4-WAw** 📻 **Spotify: https://lnkd.in/e9iMShwT** 📺 **YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eR8dTcWv** #Oncology #CancerCare #AmbientAI #AIinHealthcare #CommunityOncology #HealthcareInnovation

If you're not familiar with the CEO Roundtable on Cancer (CEORT), they're a nonprofit organization that brings together leaders from industry, academia, and government to accelerate the progress of eliminating cancer as a personal disease and public health problem. One of their key initiatives, Project Data Sphere, is an open, collaborative sharing of clinical trial data. We're proud that our CEO and founder Matthew Ko recently participated in the CEORT Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., speaking in the session "Agentic AI in clinical trials: automating the enterprise, empowering the system". Matt joined (from left to right in the photo below) panel moderator Michelle Longmire M.D., CEO of Medable, Inc; Kiran Patel, VP and Global Head of Solid Tumor Clinical Development and Diagnostics for Johnson & Johnson; and James Kugler, CEO for EMD Digital of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. As DeepScribe continues to focus on improving the care experience for oncologists and their patients, the work of CEORT and its members is nothing short of an inspiration. For more on CEORT, check out their website: https://www.ceort.org/ And check the comments for a link to Matt's interview with the organization's CEO, Dr. Sean Khozin, part of our *Beyond the Chart* podcast.

Earlier this week, #DeepScribe announced a milestone: capturing more than 3 million cancer care encounters a year with our ambient AI for oncology. That means more clinicians and patients having conversations of presence, connection, and meaning. ➡️ Nothing could be more important during a cancer care visit. If you've wondered about our dedication to oncology, it starts with the experiences of CEO and founder Matthew Ko while acting as care coordinator for his mom during breast cancer treatment. The commitment grows each day. From the inspiration of the oncologists we work with to the talents of our team, creating AI that understands the needs of oncology clinicians and care teams. Here's what clinicians get: ☑️ AI that integrates into pre-existing oncology workflows ☑️ AI that knows cancer care details, subtleties, medication names ☑️ Contextual awareness bringing past notes and results into the chart ☑️ Direct integration with key oncology EHRs: OncoEMR and IKnowMed ☑️ AI automated pre-charting for oncology ☑️ Coding intelligence for ICD-10, E/M, and HCC ☑️ Diagnosis intelligence directly in the EHR - recommendations before signoff ☑️ Care team collaboration That's a lot of checkmarks - thanks for checking them out. For more details, here's this week's announcement. https://lnkd.in/eT_YPwuW #oncology #ambientAI #AIDocumentation #PhysicianWellbeing #PatientExperience

What if the tone of a patient's voice were a fundamental part of care assessment in oncology? Dr. Sean Khozin says it can and should be. ➡️ *** Watch "Digital Biomarkers and the New Language of Cancer Care," part 1 with Dr. Khozin, on *Beyond the Chart*, hosted by DeepScribe founder and CEO Matthew Ko. || https://lnkd.in/e28vYubr *** ⬅️ As CEO of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer and Project Data Sphere, Dr. Khozin brings his expertise in oncology, technology, and even acoustics to this completely unique conversation. 🗣️ He explains how voice features like affect, cadence, and dynamic range deliver valuable clinical information that doctors may miss. Ambient AI, however, already recording patient conversations, can identify these markers. 💻 Want a quick summary of the conversation? Physician burnout has been a top-of-mind topic in healthcare for years, and rightfully so. Docs' days have been overloaded with completing charts, working their inbox... stuff that's peripheral to care. But for many clinicians, the real source of burnout isn't hours spent on "paperwork", but having less presence with patients. 🩺 Dr. Diane Reidy Lagunes, Division Chief of Medical Oncology at Duke University Health System, presents that POV on the latest episode of our podcast, *Beyond the Chart*. Dr. Reidy-Lagunes and DeepScribe founder and CEO Matthew Ko discuss how ambient AI can help clinicians eliminate that lack of presence and bring more to the bedside. In addition, Dr. Reidy-Lagunes and Matt explore ways oncology-specific AI can reduce documentation burden, improve trial matching, and even turn medical jargon into patient-friendly language. 🎧 Listen or watch! In January 2021, oncologists used DeepScribe to document a patient visit 115 times. It was the modest start of something that spoke right to the origin of our company: bringing the joy of care back to medicine by focusing on the distractions that were pulling oncologists away from their patients - sometimes, literally. Now, nearly five years later, our commitment to oncology has reached a major milestone: **DeepScribe will capture more than 3 million oncology encounters a year.** ➡️ The monthly number of cancer care visits documented by DeepScribe has doubled since August. And more than quadrupled since January. ➡️ Oncology organizations that use DeepScribe see about 40% of all oncology visits. 🩺 **What does this expanded adoption mean for clinicians?** In short, greater benefits than just documentation and coding. Every oncology group on DeepScribe is positioned to benefit from greater insights throughout their workflow, from refined clinical trial matching and treatment planning to support for value-based success. **More important, what does this mean for patients?** Undivided attention from their oncologist and care team. 🥼 ➡️ And that’s what’s really behind these numbers: A true care connection for more patients. A focused, face-to-face conversation. A hand to hold during difficult news. ⬅️ It’s what drives us to keep excelling for oncologists and oncology centers across the U.S., and bringing greater value into every exam room. #oncology #ambientAI #AIDocumentation #PhysicianWellbeing #PatientCare

👣 Dr. Todd Sautter is a foot and ankle surgeon often called "Dr. Todd," a sure sign of how he connects with patients at Grants Pass Podiatry in Oregon. But documenting care - what Dr. Todd calls "one of the banes of our existence" - can jeopardize the way physicians vibe with their patients. They have to either swivel between patient and computer screen, or try to remember information later, an impossible method to get all the important stuff charted. Dr. Todd has found that DeepScribe has changed all that for him. 🎉 And he sent us a video to share the details with other clinicians. Some of Dr. Todd's points about using DeepScribe ambient AI: ✅ More in-depth patient conversations ✅ Better physician-patient experience ✅ Improved documentation ✅ Learns how he likes to chart ✅ Note structure supports staff answering patient questions Many thanks to Dr. Todd Sautter for sharing his experiences with us (and you!) Why is Dr. Diane Reidy Lagunes getting repeated calls from frightened patients? On the newest episode of our *Beyond the Chart* podcast, Dr. Reidy - Chief of Medical Oncology and Associate VP for Oncology Services at Duke University Health System - explains it's because those patients have seen a note or result in their portal, but can't decipher it (and think the worst). How can AI help? That's one of many considerations Dr. Reidy poses with host Matthew Ko, DeepScribe founder and CEO. They go deep on how ambient AI built for oncology reduces documentation burden and burnout, can improve trial matching, and could translate medical jargon into patient-friendly language. 🎧 Listen + join the discussion below. 📻 On Apple Podcasts: https://lnkd.in/etjsZAby ⬅️ 📻 On Spotify: https://lnkd.in/egmiFuHE ⬅️ #oncology #ambientAI #AIDocumentation #PhysicianWellbeing #PatientExperience #BeyondtheChart

In a recent survey of healthcare leaders, about half (49%) predicted that clinician burnout will get *worse* over the next five years. 47% feel the complexity of patient needs will also get worse. (This one sounds more realistic as the U.S. population continues aging. The entire Baby Boomer segment will be over 65 by 2030.) This is exactly where ambient AI needs to be. ➡️ Giving clinicians more time with each patient + more personal time. ➡️ Refocusing the practice of medicine on care delivery. ➡️ Providing patients with a feeling of connection, ensuring they feel heard. ➡️ Crafting a clinical record that fully captures each patient's conditions and needs - within the context of past visits ➡️ Delivering clinical insights (pre-charting, HCC prompts) that help clinicians and improve care. The outcomes and feedback from our customers give us a very positive outlook on today - and five years from now. With ambient AI as the foundation for the improvements above. What are your thoughts? Will burnout and care complexity be better, the same, or worse five years from now? (survey by Chartis) #complexcare #ambientAI #AIDocumentation #ContextAware
