Thank you to our amazing Sunrise community for helping us recognize issues of importance at the November 12th Sunrise Commission Meeting! 🌟 Here are the highlights: ☀️The Teacher of the Month Award for November 2025 was awarded to Sujeiry Aguilera from Discovery Elementary School and Chantal Barnes from Franklin Academy. ☀️ The City Commission awarded the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award to Ms. Gracie Canedy for her impactful project, “Compassion Closet,” which provides school uniforms to students in need throughout the school year. ☀️ Our City Commission honored the winners of the 2025 "Sunrise Superstar" auditions with certificates of achievement. ☀️ Our City Commission also proclaimed the Month of November 2025 as Native American Heritage Month in the City of Sunrise. ☀️ November 29th, 2025, was proclaimed as Small Business Saturday in the City of Sunrise. ☀️ The City Commission proclaimed November 2025 as Juvenile Diabetes Awareness Month in the City of Sunrise.
