“It’s ironic that those who till the soil, cultivate and harvest the fruits, vegetables, and other foods that fill your tables with abundance have nothing left for themselves.” -Cesar Chavez 🎨 by Narsiso Martinez #CesarChavezFoundation

Inspiring and transforming communities by addressing essential human, cultural and community needs.
About us
Fifty years ago, civil rights leader Cesar Chavez ignited a movement that would transform communities by championing the rights of farmworkers, Latinos, and working families. He believed it was important to support them through numerous programs, including the burial program, credit union, and cooperative gas stations. Today, the Cesar Chavez Foundation (CCF) carries on Cesar's legacy of uplifting the lives of Latinos and working families by inspiring and transforming communities through social enterprises that address essential human, cultural and community needs. CCF serves hundreds of thousands of individuals through affordable housing development, education, broadcast programming, and the National Chavez Center. With more than 600 employees across six states, CCF provides vital community services while remaining sustainable, strategic, and fiscally responsible

"Since 1992, the Dayton Hispanic Chamber has promoted economic development in the region by helping Hispanic businesses grow through business and educational resources and networking." "We're treating every member like a business client, we meet with every single person, kind of develop individualized plans, and then try to connect community partners." "The climate right now is making everything a lot harder. So, you know, enrollment is down, everyone is incredibly scared." "There are people in Ohio, there's definitely people in Montgomery County... that want to help you grow your business and we are the middlemen between your business and the resources."

In celebration of National Playwright Month, we’re spotlighting a storyteller who has transformed the stage — and the world beyond it. Josefina López has made an extraordinary impact on theater and film, giving voice to those often overlooked and paving the way for Latinos to access and thrive in the arts. #CesarChavezFoundation #SiSePuede #WeAreWinning

“We can choose to use our lives for others to bring about a better and more just world for our children. People who make that choice will know hardship and sacrifice. But if you give yourself totally to the non-violence struggle for peace and justice, you also find that people give you their hearts, and you will never go hungry and never be alone. And in giving of yourself, you will discover a whole new life full of meaning and love.” -Cesar Chavez, Speech Ending Fast, 1972. 🎨 by Rafael Lopez #CesarChavezFoundation #SiSePuede

"Author Dennis R. Garcia continues to engage readers across Kansas with Las Madres: Latinas in the Heartland Who Led Their Family to Success, a 2025 Kansas Notable Book. Las Madres is a family saga that chronicles the journey of three generations of strong and resilient women—Candelaria, Rafaela, and Irene—from Mexico to the U.S." "Las Madres illuminates the critical role of Mexican workers and their families who built the workhorse that fueled the American economy in the last century, the railways." "Latinas, including Irene, took leadership roles in teaching citizenship and GED classes, raising funds to provide food, clothing, shelter, and scholarship funds for all those in need." "This ancient cruelty of conquerors who used the tool of family separation to subjugate people and communities continues today – the stolen children in African nations, Russians taking children of Ukraine, and the deportation of Latino parents and children by the United States."

The Cesar Chavez Foundation expresses our deepest gratitude to all those who have served our country. We wish you all a Happy Veterans Day! Cesar Chavez joined the Navy at 19, which fueled his drive to fight for human rights and justice for migrant workers. He was one of the first Latinos to have a U.S. naval ship named after him, the USNS Cesar Chavez, launched on May 5, 2012. 📸: Cesar Chavez (left) while serving in the U.S. Navy on the island of Guam in the western Pacific. #VeteransDay #CesarChavezFoundation #SiSePuede

"In Baldwin Park, a new 51-unit building is nearing completion in the city’s downtown. The Esteban E. Torres Village is expected to be finished within the first few months of 2026." "It’s located at 14617 Ramona Boulevard, across the street from the Baldwin Park Metrolink Station, and walking distance from Morgan Park, the Baldwin Park community center, city hall, Baldwin Park High School, and grocery stores." "The Torres building is a project of the Cesar Chavez Foundation, which built a similar project in El Monte in 2022."

"Earlier this year, the latest U.S. Latino GDP Report revealed that the direct economic output of the country's Latino population exceeded $4 trillion for the first time. Now, new findings from researchers at UCLA and California Lutheran University show that a quarter of that came from Latinos in one state: California." "Latinos have been driving California's economy for 250 years," said co-author David Hayes-Bautista, a distinguished professor of medicine at UCLA and the report's co-author. "The Latino labor force in California is growing at a rate 15 times faster than that of the non-Latino labor force."
