Thanks for following along today. Eric Beaman, RA, NCARB back with the last takeover of the day. Outside of being an architect for a great company, I’m constantly analyzing the buildings and spaces around me, especially the older ones. I love uncovering the stories behind them. If you ever see me in a crowd, I’m usually the one looking up, wandering around, or touching materials to understand how things were made. I also make a point to reconnect with my farm roots whenever I can. It keeps me grounded, reminds me where my story began, and gives me the chance to teach my daughter about the essential role farmers play in our world. And when a little extra clarity is needed, a long ride through the countryside on my motorcycle usually does the trick. Above all, my family is my foundation. They’re the reason I am who I am today and the inspiration for the future I’m building. I can’t wait for the day my daughter walks into a space I helped design, where my work can play a small part in shaping her world and improving the lives of others.

Eric Beaman, RA, NCARB back for part two. Becoming an architect is one of the greatest fulfillments of my life, something I’ve worked toward since those first high school drafting classes that sparked everything. What keeps me inspired is the balance of applying what I’ve learned, mentoring others, and still discovering something new every day through the passionate, like-minded professionals around me. This profession never stops teaching you, and that’s a big part of why I love it. Of course, getting work done isn’t always without challenges, especially when a needy cat or a curious 2-year-old decides they need my attention. But the flexibility of my work environment makes all the difference. As long as there’s coffee involved, I’m good to go.

Hi LinkedIn! My name is Eric Beaman, RA, NCARB, Senior Architect and Architectural Lead in the Indianapolis studio. I’ve been with BSA LifeStructures for just under two years, but I've spent the past 12 years growing in this profession. My interest in architecture began in high school, where I developed a passion for educational environments. This focus carried through my graduate work and continues to shape how I practice today. Joining BSA has felt like a homecoming, reconnecting me with the learning-based projects that inspired me early in my career. I’m also a very hands-on designer. During college, I had the opportunity to work on several educational design-build projects, including creating a children’s playscape for the Muncie Children’s Museum inspired by beloved storybooks. Experiences like these reinforced why I love what I do, designing spaces that support learning, curiosity, and the development of others. I’m excited to continue sharing more on LinkedIn today.

When healthcare leaders sit down to envision a new clinical, ambulatory, or tertiary care space, the first questions often sound practical and logical: What is the budget? What premium must we pay for specialized equipment? How soon can revenue-generating spaces come online? But focusing solely on compliance, operations, and cost efficiency can inadvertently sideline another crucial factor: interior design. Interior design isn’t just about aesthetics, says Jennifer Worley, Director, Interior Design at BSA. It’s a strategic tool with direct implications for patient recovery, staff productivity, and long-term organizational success. To maximize its impact, healthcare leaders should frame planning around three core considerations: start interior design early, elevate the human experience, and design with empathy as a guiding principle. https://hubs.li/Q03VdNJH0
