"Build Your People, Build Your Outcomes" One of the biggest misconceptions in retail is that sales teams are interchangeable. Not true. Not even close. On The Journey To CEO Success podcast with Patrick Thean, co-founder of Rhythm Systems, I shared a pivotal moment in our transformation at Broad River Retail, the decision to invest in clearer career paths and stronger compensation for our Memory Makers. Many leaders see that as a cost. We saw it as a competitive advantage. And here's what happened: • Engagement went up • Retention improved • High performers stayed longer • Leaders emerged faster • And results accelerated dramatically When people know how they can grow, and are rewarded in a way that honors their contribution, they become more confident, more committed, and more connected to the mission, vision, and purpose. Great companies don’t just build systems. They build people. And people build the results. Behind the Remodel: Broad River Retail General Manager on Mooresville's Makeover Seventeen years after opening, the Lake Norman Ashley Store just stepped into a new chapter with its Ashley 7.0 remodel. Charlie Malouf sat down with Nathan Jeter to discuss the journey, the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the Memory Makers who helped shape The Lake. Through the remodel, the team at The Lake didn’t slow down — they earned Store of the Month twice during construction. Watch the full conversation to hear Nathan’s perspective on the remodel and what’s ahead for The Lake. https://lnkd.in/eA5EM2Nk
Each workshop at Pioneering the Path is another step towards more impactful, purpose-driven leadership. Learning from each other reinforces our shared vision and commitment to excellence at one of the most important times of the year. Together we’re creating a culture of continuous growth, empowerment and genuine impact.
We welcomed bestselling author Jon Acuff to The River as part of our 8:28 Experience in August, closing out our Pioneering the Path event with a message that resonated with many. Acuff spent time with our Memory Makers discussing goals, how we talk to ourselves, and choosing happiness. He brought humor, warmth, and the kind of stories you don’t forget. We were also lucky enough to host his parents, which made the day even better. We’re grateful he shared so much with our team. It was a meaningful finish to an important day for our people.
We're so grateful have hosted Kristen Hadeed at Broad River! Hadeed, author of Permission to Screw Up, opened Pioneering the Path, our Purpose 8:28 Experience. What a standout way to begin the day! She spoke to our Memory Makers about leading with authenticity and how staying open to growth, including the moments we stumble, shapes us into stronger leaders. She also joined us on Stories from the River. There’s a link to the episode in the comments. Give it a listen!
