Celebrating #activeagingweek, we were delighted to invite local author Kalister Green-Byrd to discuss her inspiring story about writing her autobiography, "Overcoming the Odds". As a nonagenarian first-time author, Kalister reflected upon her writing journey and the challenges and opportunities it presented. Kalister has proven that #activeaging is possible and the rewards immeasurable!

Members of the Bethany Communities’ Café Connections, a memory café supported by the CUMMINGS FOUNDATION, along with some amazing volunteers, hosted an old-fashioned summer carnival today complete with games, prizes and sweet treats like snow cones and cotton candy! The members helped to plan, create and deliver on this fun community activity, not only remembering the good old days but also creating new memories with new friends! #memorycafe

The Bethany Communities team was well represented this week when Jeanette Martinez, Director of Operations, joined other aging service providers and members of LeadingAge Massachusetts as they advocated in Wahington DC for the needs of older adults. Advocating for the needs of our residents is an integral part of the Bethany mission. Thank you to all who participated in this important effort!
