Equity. Justice. Education.

About us

All4Ed is a Washington, DC-based national advocacy organization committed to expanding equitable educational opportunities for students of color, students from low-income families, and other marginalized groups. We advance transformation from the classroom to Congress by advocating for federal, state, and local policies and practices that ensure all students graduate high school prepared for postsecondary education and success in a rapidly changing world. By collaborating with government officials, we advance federal, state, and local policies that give educators the support, incentives, and political will necessary to reimagine and restructure their schools. At the same time, we work alongside district and school leaders in our Future Ready Schools® Network (futureready.org/ #FutureReady) to equip them with the tools and resources they need to think differently about student learning and implement practices to improve student outcomes. Through this dual approach, we build collective momentum at the local, state, and federal levels to expand equitable educational opportunities and dismantle discriminatory structures that have deprived too many students of the high-quality education they deserve. #K12policy #education #edTech #schoolleadership #districtleadership

⚖️ Balancing original human creativity with AI assistance? 🤔 Concerned about ethical content creation, copyright, and digital rights protections? ✍️ What are the risks of signing away digital rights through contracts or apps? 👀 Looking for insights from student voices on AI use, expectations, and transparency? You're in the right place! ➡️ https://bit.ly/487oC1Q In part ✌️ of our webinar series with ASCD, we are exploring the intersection of AI, media literacy, and digital citizenship. GenAI is changing learning fast. We’re here to support educators as they navigate new challenges, new opportunities, and a rapidly evolving digital landscape responsibly.

  • 🎥 A message from our CEO: The Trump administration has made earnest steps to begin dismantling the Department of Education. Six new interagency agreements (IAAs) were announced to the public, but they were signed well over a month ago. No one has known about them or seen them until today - including Congress. Simply put, this is unacceptable. 🙅♀️ Watch Amy's full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eCt7hinJ

  • Everyone wants innovation. Everyone wants scale. ⚖️ But what happens when we skip the middle steps—piloting, refining, gathering evidence? Too often, we end up with big initiatives built on little understanding. Kyle Hartung and Charlotte Cahill's newest post argues for something more radical: Nuance. Patience. Evidence. And the courage to say “we’re not ready to scale… yet.” If we want pathways that truly work for all young people—especially those furthest from opportunity—we need to resist innovation theater and build responsibly. 🗞️ Read more: “The Missing Middle.” https://lnkd.in/egbttK2y

  • Thinking of adding AI to career education? 🤔 📱 This district made it happen: https://bit.ly/4pcrn92 Our Senior Advisor, Kyle Hartung, notes that students are likely asking big questions like: 💭 "How do people use the tools of the trade?" 💭 "How does it reflect the core work in their industry?" 💭 "And what are the questions that the industry is asking about how they might use technology differently?" — and those "inquiries are a good source of inquiry for young people as they explore the world of work more deeply."

  • All4Ed Statement on the Dismantling of the U.S. Department of Education Today, All4Ed strongly condemns Secretary Linda McMahon and the Trump administration’s illegal and destabilizing plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. The six interagency agreements released today transfer billions in funding and critical statutory responsibilities to agencies that lack the legal authority, expertise, and infrastructure to serve our nation’s students. This is not reform—it is sabotage. Read our full statement here: https://lnkd.in/eDnbvtWG

  • Short-term credentials can provide a quick path to employment — or a dead end. ⚠️ ✔️ States have a powerful opportunity and a responsibility to protect learners. Still, without thoughtful implementation, learners could invest their Pell Grants in programs that don’t lead to real wage gains, stackable pathways, or upward mobility. 📉 All4Ed outlines four key steps for states to ensure that Workforce Pell delivers on its promise: 1️⃣ Build cross-sector partnerships 2️⃣ Raise quality standards 3️⃣ Support stackable credentials 4️⃣ Strengthen data and transparency 📘 Read how states can lead: https://lnkd.in/ez8rX-_K

  • In response to Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education Linda McMahon's comments and her recent USA Today op-ed calling for the dismantling of the U.S. Department of Education, All4Ed CEO Amy L. shares why this moment demands clarity, courage, and commitment to equity. At All4Ed, we believe the U.S. Department of Education plays a vital role in protecting civil rights, expanding access, and improving outcomes for all learners—especially those historically underserved. Dismantling it would be a devastating for students and for our nation.

I’m dismayed by how little regard Secretary McMahon gives to why the U.S. Department of Education exists. Should it be improved? Yes! Dismantled? No! My thoughts today…and why all of us at All4Ed have been working towards increasing equitable opportunities and improving outcomes for us all through opposing the actions to gut the federal role in #education. #edpolicy
