It was such a joy to deliver the message yesterday at Simpson Gillespie UMC as the Children’s Sabbath Day speaker. This year the United Women in Faith chose as the theme, “A Place for Learning, Play, and Laughter". Even though being in the pulpit was daunting, developing and delivering the message wasn't. I am able to draw inspiration from watching our teachers at AC4Ed create spaces where children grow, thrive, and discover the joy of being who they were created to be everyday. Part of my message was about one of my mentors, Doug Boyd who saw something in me and offered me a role at Bethlehem Center which I accepted and started 26 years ago today. I am forever greatful to Mr. Boyd for helping connect a young man to his purpose and I will continue to pay it forward. Thanks to one of our board members, Rev. Lisa Marshall for sharing her pulpit and encouragement for our collective ministry.
