In my opinion the options presented here are less relevant in terms of the 2020+ landscape. - Apache Mesos is discontinued, last release version on 2020, after a long time where it was irrelevant market-wise. - Docker Swarm after the Mirantis acquisition has been split into 2 products. The open source Swarm has not received any critical bug fixes since 2021 and is effectively dead, in terms of ongoing support. Another spin-off product is Mirantis Swarm, part of Mirantis Kubernetes Engine, and is an enterprise feature targeted towards former users of Docker EE (pre-acquisition) So in essence the current landscape for production usage is between various Kubernetes flavours and managed service offerings, Hashicorp Nomad and for AWS users ECS.
