Job Title: Data Protection Associate/DPO

Location: Hertfordshire, UK (hybrid – 3 days a week onsite)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Dependent on experience + package

Role Overview:

As a Data Protection Associate (EMEA), you will play a key role in supporting the EMEA Data Protection Officer and Manager to ensure compliance with GDPR and other local data protection laws. This position is critical to maintaining robust privacy practices and safeguarding personal data across the EMEA region and beyond.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead privacy assessments and reviews, including DPIAs, AI Impact Assessments, Vendor
  • Assessments, and Transfer Impact Assessments.
  • Manage the EMEA privacy helpdesk, responding to queries and escalating complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of processing activities in line with GDPR Article 30.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions to promote a strong privacy culture.
  • Assist with incident and breach management, including risk assessments and escalation.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • 3–5 years of experience in data protection/privacy compliance, ideally within pharma or life sciences.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, and UK Data Protection Act.
  • Experience with privacy platforms (OneTrust preferred).
  • Understanding of AI regulations and governance (EU AI Act).
  • Familiarity with global data protection laws is advantageous.


Additional Information:

  • Degree in law, cybersecurity, computer science, or related field preferred.
  • CIPP(E) certification is desirable but not essential.
  • Some international travel may be required.
