Tavistock attended the Insurance Insider's London Market Conference yesterday at Convene, 22 Bishopsgate. The event was focused around the theme of ‘City Perspectives on Global Challenges’ and brought together representatives of the London market to engage, network and discuss how our industry can stay competitive in a rapidly changing world. Kuba Stawiski, Katie Hopkins and Grace Cooper sat in on the day's thought leadership sessions, including thought-provoking keynotes, fireside chats and panel discussions on a variety of key themes and topics. Subjects of debate ranged from AI to technology, the energy transition, and the current geopolitical and climate landscape. Tavistock’s financial services team supported Manx Financial Group PLC (MFG) at a wealth manager lunch event yesterday alongside FIVE MINUTE PITCH TV. The event was a great chance for MFG's management to present company updates to current and prospective investors and answer their questions. On Monday 24 November, I will be swapping my home comforts for a night of rough sleeping, raising money for Tavistock's chosen charity, Single Homeless Project.   Along with 100 other volunteers, we are each aiming to raise at least £2,500 for a collective £250,000 target. Reflecting on a busy EXPO REAL (Messe München), Olivia Rhodes and I found it tricky to find an original catchphrase to sum up the mood this year. We've had 'new normal' and 'survive to 25' already, and variations on either of these would have probably worked this year. However, there was definitely some optimism that larger deals are coming in the final quarter and that Europe may be set to benefit from increased defence spending and a reallocation of capital from the US. There was also strong representation from across Europe and the UK with around 40,000 delegates shuffling through the halls. Despite the rain, you could feel the energy and a sense of urgency, if not overt optimism, as people worked hard to get deals moving against a volatile political, geopolitical and unpredictable economic backdrop. On that short note, I think I've had my fill of pretzels 🥨 and lovely German beer 🍺 for this year. Now, bring on Q4 💪 #realestate #logistics #datacentres #europe Tavistock
