  • Today we’re highlighting Operation Sight — a collaborative effort with the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia and Orbis International to strengthen primary eye care and eliminate trachomatous trichiasis (TT), a leading cause of preventable blindness. By replacing paper-based registration with biometric ID, health workers can now retrieve patient records in seconds, improving follow-up care and reducing duplication, even in remote settings. ➡️ Swipe through to see how Operation Sight is transforming eye health in Ethiopia. #EyeHealth #PreventableBlindness #DigitalHealth #GlobalHealthInnovation #Impact #OperationSight #TechForGood #Biometrics

  • Our own Jenny Thornton recently represented Simprints at Action Against Hunger USA's Innovation Showcase in New York City. Jenny was selected as one of four innovators presenting transformative solutions for global hunger and health, a testament to the vital role biometric technology plays in strengthening humanitarian delivery and ensuring vulnerable populations receive the care they need. The event brought together inspiring voices in innovation, including Maria Kasparian from Edesia Nutrition, Arttu Luukanen from Solar Foods, Marie-Laure Oger and Caroline Antoine from ACTION CONTRE LA FAIM, and Ralph Jerome from Rivalz™. Thank you to Action Against Hunger USA for convening this important gathering, and congratulations to Jenny and all the 2025 Innovators for your dedication to driving meaningful change. #InnovationForImpact #HumanitarianTech #GlobalHealth #Biometrics

  • This upcoming World Antibiotic Awareness Week, we stand with the World Health Organization and the global health community in addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: antibiotic resistance. Antibiotic resistance is responsible for an estimated 1.27 million deaths annually, and without urgent action, this number could rise dramatically. Common infections that were once easily treatable are becoming increasingly difficult to manage, threatening to reverse decades of medical progress and jeopardising routine procedures from childbirth to cancer treatment. 🦠 The challenge is complex, but solutions exist. While developing new antibiotics is crucial, we must also focus on using existing antibiotics more responsibly. This means ensuring they reach the right patients, at the right time, in the right doses. At Simprints, we believe technology has a vital role to play in this fight. Our biometric digital ID solution can help healthcare workers: ✓ Accurately identify patients and track their medication history ✓ Prevent duplicate prescriptions and medication misuse ✓ Monitor treatment adherence and outcomes ✓ Collect reliable data to inform public health strategies 💊 By giving every patient a verifiable digital identity, we're can help close the gaps where antibiotics can be misused or distributed ineffectively. This is particularly critical in low-resource settings where health systems face the greatest strain and where the impact of antibiotic resistance is felt most acutely. The fight against antibiotic resistance requires collective action, from policymakers to healthcare workers to technology innovators. 📣 Today we're releasing our 2025 State of the Builders Report with findings from 50+ social entrepreneurs and their partners across Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Here are some key findings: ✔️ Social entrepreneurs are doubling down on direct government partnerships, commercial revenue, and non-traditional funding sources ✔️ Local governments are turning to them as proven alternatives to traditional aid implementers ✔️ Builders believe they can deliver 60-70% of legacy aid's impact at 10-20% of the cost Most importantly: entrepreneurs see this moment as an opportunity to reset global development. Why does this matter now? When 80% of U.S. international assistance froze in early 2025, traditional aid programs stopped. Many of the aid industry’s largest implementers closed their doors or significantly downsized, putting in jeopardy the communities they served. But the 50+ social entrepreneurs and partners we interviewed? 82% reported zero or minimal impact. Why? They'd spent years building diversified revenue streams, embedding themselves in local markets, and building solutions that local governments would use their own budgets to pay for. Their models show what resilience and sustainability looks like, creating a template for donors, philanthropists, and investors to support. 👉 This is the first real chance in decades to build something better. Read what the builders say they need to scale their impact right now. Read the report here: https://lnkd.in/emastVmh

  • The World Bank’s latest ID4D–Global Findex data shows both progress and persistent gaps: 🔹 800 million people still lack official proof of identity — over half are children. 🔹 2.9 billion people remain without access to digital IDs for online services. 🔹 Women, rural residents, and the poorest communities are disproportionately excluded. Without an ID, everyday essentials — from healthcare to mobile connectivity — become inaccessible. The digital divide starts with an identity divide. We believe that everyone, everywhere, deserves a trusted way to prove who they are. That’s why we’re building biometric and digital ID tools designed for the world’s most challenging contexts, ensuring last-mile inclusion for people often left out of traditional systems. 📑 Read more about the World Bank's findings: https://lnkd.in/evvv_KCz

  • 🌍 Happy World Science Day for Peace and Development! Celebrated every 10 November, this day reminds us that science is a common good, one that fuels innovation, inclusion, and collaboration across borders. Simprints' biometric technology strengthens health systems to data-driven solutions that empower communities, helping science work for people and the planet. As we enter the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (2024–2033), we’re inspired by UNESCO’s call for “the science we need for 2050”, science that's rooted in trust, transformation, and tomorrow. Let’s celebrate the thinkers, builders, and dreamers shaping a more just and resilient future. ✨ #WorldScienceDay #ScienceForPeace #Biometrics #InnovationForGood #SustainableDevelopment #TechForGood
