  • Our CEO, Joe Burns delivered a webinar on Microsoft Copilot for Accountants as part of an exclusive session for members of the Digital Accountants Club. This was put together by Jeri Williams FCA 🐪 and Hilary Lewis 💻♣️ There was plenty of interaction as Joe demonstrated live some practical examples of how Accountancy firms can use Copilot to get more done in less time. We have a large number of Accounting companies that we support at Reformed IT. This is mainly due to our focus on Cyber Security protection combined with our drive towards efficiency for our clients. Although we can't take any more new clients on until the new year, now is the time to start the conversation if you're not getting a proactive service from your current IT partner.

📕 Author of ‘Moving to Dubai’ 🇬🇧 UK & 🇦🇪 UAE tax pro 🧮 Accountant to the rich & famous…Jokes! I’ll take anyone 🤭 🤖 Founder of DAC - helping accountants embrace AI ✍️ Get my daily emails ⬇️

Yesterday Joe Burns delivered an incredible webinar on using Microsoft Co-Pilot. The hints and tips blew my mind honestly. The things you can do 🤯🤯🤯 We had so many questions from our Digital Accountants Club members as well. That’s one of the amazing things about being a member of DAC. We don’t just talk the talk. A member asked for some training on Co-Pilot. Joe Burns along with Joe and Scott run Reformed IT, who have looked after the IT support for Smooth Accounting for many years. Their support is exceptional. I knew that Joe would be the best person to ask. And boom 💥 booked in ✅ It’s just one of the ways we look after practice owners and finance professionals inside DAC. Our doors open to new members on 1st December and if you’re not on the wait list, what are you doing? Seriously?! 😂 Link in comments to be notified of all the important things we do, and when you can get in. PS - did I take this sneaky photo of Joe….. maybe I did.

Accountancy businesses are being targeted by cyber criminals. 🎯 We're hearing of a lot of activity surrounding accountancy firms being either successfully breached or targeted heavily by attackers. ⛓️💥 Here's why: Accountants have lots of access to financial data for lots of businesses. 📊 Both sales and purchase invoices, personal banking information for payroll, tax information for HMRC. All of which can be used for extremely targeted attacks on other businesses and individuals. I'd encourage all businesses to do more due diligence on the accountants you're using as some of our clients have been impacted by the knock on effect of their accountants being compromised. 🧐 Ask your accountants whether they have Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 which helps to demonstrate a higher level of maturity when it comes to cyber security defense. If they don't, check they're working towards these standards and as a bear minimum that they: ✅ Have MFA enabled on all access to online accounts. ✅ Provide regular, audited cyber awareness training to all staff. ✅ Perform regular vulnerability testing (or better still pen testing) on their systems. ✅ Utilise a dedicated and secure password manager for all employees. ✅ Perform backups of all systems and data, including Microsoft 365. ✅ Have an incident response plan in place. At Reformed IT, we can provide due diligence services for your supply chain to ensure that you're not being put at risk by a third-party provider, such as your accountants. Have you had an experience of an accountancy firm being attacked and if so, has it had an impact on your business too?

I need your help 🙏🏻 I've reluctantly agreed to once again take part in the CEO Sleepout UK at Notts County Football Club. 💤 The last time I did it I felt sick the whole day afterwards and this was in a secure environment surrounded by people I knew. It does make you realise how horrible it is for people who are spending every night sleeping on the streets. I'll be joining several people from Nottingham City Business Club thanks to the efforts of Deborah Bond (Labbate) who rallies the troops every year to support worthwhile local charities. Now, this is where you lot come in. I'm looking to raise £5,000 in donations. If I've helped you in some way, maybe one of my posts gave you some insights or ideas that led to something good in your life or business. Or I might have spent an hour on a Teams call with you sharing some free advice. I'd be extremely grateful if you could make a donation through the link in the comments. Even if you can only afford a small amount, it will help. I have around 12,000 followers on this platform, even if each person donated just 50p, I'd exceed my target. So don't feel like you can't donate even if it's a small amount. Even if you can't donate, please like, comment and repost which will help towards my goal by getting this post in front of more people. 🙏🏻 Thank you all for your kindness and support. 🫶🏻 #ceosleepout #homelessness

🥊 ChatGPT Vs Microsoft Copilot. Who wins the fight for businesses? I've been using ChatGPT for a few years now, even back when it was OpenAI Playground, before it became ChatGPT. It's a tool that I value as it's been instrumental in improving my own productivity and efficiency. Assisting with: 📝 Writing content like job descriptions, policies, speaker bios and awards applications. 👩🏻💻 Creating scripts and writing SQL reports. 🖼️ Generating custom images like the one in this post. 🧠 Brainstorming ideas or helping with additional perspectives and critique for my ideas. 🗽 Providing travel information, facts and insights. However, ChatGPT lacks your business context. It doesn't have access to your files, emails, Teams meetings and chats unless you upload everything to it. Which you shouldn't be doing, especially using personal ChatGPT accounts. You're taking company data out of the company boundary for security and compliance. 💪🏻That's where Microsoft Copilot comes in. If you're using Microsoft 365, Copilot has access to all your data within OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams and Outlook. Which means you can ask things like: "Help me to prepare for my upcoming meeting with customer x by summarising my communications and files related to them. Providing any actions that have been completed or are outstanding." This level of interaction goes far beyond what you'll get with ChatGPT. However, before you run off and get Copilot licences for all of your employees. I'd advise following the steps below. 👇🏻 1️⃣ Get a Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness assessment completed by a competent partner. This will ensure that your business is ready for Copilot and that your security and auditing is as it should be. Without this, you run the risk of surfacing sensitive company data to the wrong people. 2️⃣ Pick a group of early adopters in the organisation who will champion the use of Copilot. These will often be your SLT or maybe others who like to embrace technology. 3️⃣ Get Reformed IT to run a workshop for the early adopters. Helping to guide people through how to get started with Copilot and provide some example use cases. Allowing everyone to hit the ground running. 4️⃣ Around one month later, run a second workshop for the same group. This time focused on sharing insights and ideas. Answering any questions and giving the best use cases so far. This will allow you to get the best ROI on your investment in Copilot. Drop me a message or give our team a call on 01158 244 824 if you're interested in learning how Copilot can help your team to become more productive and efficient.

  • Reformed IT have proudly partnered with HaloCRM to provide our clients with the same business management tool which we've been using for over 4 years in HaloPSA. Our clients always comment on how good and efficient our sales process is along with our customer service and even invoicing (clients can access all their invoices from our self-service portal). The reason our operation is so slick is because we've invested in HaloPSA over the years and tailored the solution with automations and workflows to allow us to stand out in our market. Now, thanks to our partnership with Halo, we can offer these same benefits to our clients to drive more efficiency and automation within their business. We kicked off a project for one of our clients last week and they can already see a stream of benefits, where forms, workflows & automations are revolutionising their existing processes. If your business is still managing enquiries or service requests through shared mailboxes, with no accountability, no traceability and no standardisation, there's a much better way! Get in touch with our team if you're interested in a demo and a review of your existing processes. #business #automation #crm

  • We've been ranked within the top 10 UK MSPs according to the 2025 MSP 501 list by Channel Futures. 144th Globally. 🎉

Really proud to announce that Reformed IT have been featured in the prestigious MSP 501 list by Channel Futures for the first time. 🎉 This annual list recognises the top 501 MSPs globally based on a series of financial metrics and KPIs. We were ranked 144th globally but impressively ranked 9th in the UK. 🏆 2025 also saw us featured on the Financial Times FT 1000 list of the fastest growing companies in Europe. I'm often the one that people recognise associated with Reformed IT, but the reality is that this exceptional growth and success has been delivered by our entire team who consistently go above and beyond to delight our clients. This has led to 100% client retention in 6 years whilst we've won some of the East Midlands' most established and reputable businesses as clients. Excited as to what 2026 will look like as we help more companies to stay secure and drive efficiency in their business using technology. #MSP501 #Awards #Growth

There's a great opportunity opening at Reformed IT for a passionate, solutions minded account manager to join our team. The right person will be working alongside the co-founders to understand our client's biggest challenges and to implement the best solutions to drive growth and innovation within the businesses we support. You never know, one day it could be your face on the back of a bus, like our resident model Jake Walker 👇🏻 I'll be putting together a job description in the coming days but wanted this post to alert anyone in the IT Managed Services industry, maybe working for another MSP and wanting to join one of the fastest growing businesses in Europe (according to the financial times FT 1000 listing this year). Interested in a confidential chat? Drop me a DM.

  • We're constantly looking for ways to make Reformed IT the best place to work. You may remember seeing the designs that Office Innovations did for us a few months back. But we have been thinking about how to set ourselves apart from everyone else. Loads of offices have pool tables and ping pong, but we're including our very own sauna. We've had the latest designs back and this is what it will look like. The purpose built, custom sauna will allow our team the chance to relax and unwind at lunch or after work. If you're looking for a great place to work, Reformed IT has it all. #greatplacestowork #sauna #officeperks

  • On Saturday, we brought our team together for our annual Vision Day. Our theme for the year is 'Excellence' and the action packed day was no exception.

On Saturday, Reformed IT hosted our annual Vision Day. This is where we get our entire team together to reflect on the previous year, celebrate our successes and set out our goals and ambitions for the year ahead. It's also an opportunity for us to have some fun as a team. This year we hosted the event at Center Parcs. After our morning meeting we grabbed some lunch and then did an Ariel Adventure course, climbing through obstacles high up in the trees and flying between various parts of the course on a zip wire. We also recognised some of our team with our annual awards. This year they went to: 🏆 Owen Underwood for Breakthrough Performer 🏆 Will Gennoe for Excellence in Customer service 🏆 Stephen C. for Outstanding Contribution They all thoroughly deserved this recognition based on their efforts over the last year. Our theme for the year has also been set, which is Excellence. Average is never good enough at Reformed IT. We always set extremely high standards and this is something we will continue to focus on. We also took inspiration from Sir Clive Woodward from his talk at The IT Nation recently in Edinburgh. He talked about implementing "Winning Behaviours" within a high performance team, and we've started the discussion as a team to come up with our own winning behaviours. I've said it before and I'll say it again, growing a business isn't easy. But if you can find a bunch of great individuals and create a winning culture with everyone working together as one team, you'll have a much easier ride. Dan Hill has helped lead our team and build this winning culture, allowing me, Scott Lynam and Joe Miller to focus on working on the business instead of in it. Massively excited about what we'll achieve over the next 12 months, even after setting a very high bar over the last year. #team #culture #vision #growth

We've seen an increased demand for Pen Testing services at Reformed IT this year. Penetration Testing is a service where we simulate the same techniques used by criminal hackers, attempting to find weaknesses in your systems and processes which could potentially be exploited. The reality is that criminal hackers are trying, right now to gain a foothold into your organisation. It doesn't matter who you are, or what size you are, it's happening. Generally it's only a matter of time before they find an unlocked door or window into your business. Once they find it, it can cause serious damage and disruption to your operations. Due to more regulations and compliance requirements, more businesses are seeking to have pen testing done. Beyond what is mandated though, all businesses should look to have a pen test completed, at least once a year or after any significant system changes. Without it, there's a good chance criminal hackers are going to find your weaknesses before you do. 📸 image represents another type of pen testing 😂 #pentesting #cybersecurity #nottingham #derby
