Drug Delivery to the Lungs Conference (DDL)
Education
The DDL Conference is the Premier International Conference covering all aspects of respiratory drug delivery.
About us
Drug Delivery to the Lungs (DDL) is recognised as one of the major European conferences in respiratory drug delivery and a key international meeting for the rest of the world. It's mission is to provide a vehicle for the advancement of respiratory science and to share recent developments in inhalation therapy in a friendly and informal environment. Since the first meeting, DDL has also grown in stature and importance to cover all aspects of respiratory delivery from early research through pharmacology, pre-clinical, chemistry manufacturing and controls (CMC), regulatory as well as industrialisation and commercialisation. The conference attracts a range of attendees from scientists, academics, clinicians, regulators and industrial experts specialising in all aspects of developing medicines for inhalation. DDL is a not-for-profit conference and any surpluses are reinvested into research and training of the next generation of aerosol and drug delivery scientists. DDL also aims to be affordable for students and academic researchers as well as scientists from all levels of industry. This gives everyone the opportunity to publish and present their work, visit exhibitors’ stands and hold discussions with a wide variety of experts in the field.

A well deserved grant for your work Sara - we look forward to hearing how the research continues - Good luck!
I am deeply honored to have been selected to receive a Career Development Grant from Drug Delivery to the Lungs Conference (DDL). This recognition supports my ongoing work at RTI International aimed at advancing pulmonary and intranasal delivery platforms to improve infectious disease prevention and treatment strategies. This award not only reinforces the importance of pulmonary drug delivery development but also provides value toward my broader goals of bridging fundamental benchtop aerosol characterization with clinical translation. Many thanks to the DDL community for their support in shaping the next generation of drug delivery scientists.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Tavernini to the New Researcher Network (NRN) Committee! Scott Tavernini is a Research Engineer and PhD student at the University of Alberta (Canada) working and studying under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Martin. He began doctoral studies in January of 2023 where he is focusing on measuring dissolution kinetics of solubility-limited drugs subjected to physiologically relevant conditions, with an ultimate goal of unifying in-vitro measurements of regional deposition and dissolution with in-silico modeling of pharmacokinetics. Scott will assist the NRN Committee in planning the networking events for young scientists at future DDL Conferences, as well as other events during 2026. Welcome Scott! For full information about the NRN, please visit the DDL Website: https://lnkd.in/dcCWecQ
