Another busy week at Ad Net Zero in the run up to our Annual Leadership Breakfast. Here's what's been happening. 👏 A week since our 4th Annual Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards, we’ve loved seeing all your posts celebrating the wins. Special shoutout this week goes to supporters MG OMD, giffgaff | Certified B Corp, and Pearl & Dean for their award-winning work on Wild Spaces - turning cinema advertising into a driver for nature restoration. This week, Pearl & Dean are filming Episode 5 in the North York Moors, set to hit screens nationwide from 02/01/26. Missed the previous episodes? Watch them all here: https://lnkd.in/e9bjM_CW 🌿 Sky unveiled a first-of-its-kind clean-energy power unit for film and TV production - a hybrid hydrogen fuel cell and sodium battery system delivering zero emissions, no noise, and full diesel-generator capability. With tentpole productions generating up to 50% of emissions from fossil fuel use, this breakthrough could transform sustainable production. Trials are underway at Sky Studios Elstree. 👉 Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eaBzrMRg Closer to home, the Ad Net Zero team joined the Advertising Association to support CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME, helping distribute food bags to those in need and taking time to connect with individuals and volunteers. With 49% of UK workers living paycheck to paycheck in 2024/25 (ADP People at Work), this was a powerful reminder of why community action matters. 📊 On Thursday 4th December, don’t miss JICMAIL's Q3 2025 Results + Exploring the Mail Channel's Sustainability Credentials webinar, featuring Ad Net Zero's Alex d'Albertanson alongside CarbonQuota, Webmart and PrintGreen, to discuss mail performance insights and practical ways brands can balance effectiveness with eco-friendly practices. 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/ez2Bs4p8

Advertisers helping to save the planet! 🏆 Last week I hosted the Ad Net Zero Awards & met lots of people doing brilliant campaigns with 32 categories & 90 shortlisted entries, showing that creative advertising & saving the planet can go hand in hand. 🌍 In a world facing escalating climate risks, advertising has a critical role – not just in reducing emissions but in encouraging sustainable behaviours. By learning from these campaigns, we can scale these proven approaches and ensure the industry moves towards a sustainable future. 👏 Congratulations to all the winners Big shout out to the two Grand prix winners. -Dentsu Denmark for International Grand Prix for their work with Visit Aarhus on the ‘So much to enjoy, So close to you’ campaign. -For the UK Grand Prix, MG OMD & ITV won for ‘Warming the UK up to low carbon heating systems with a trusted British soap’, in partnership with the UK Government’s Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Held at the lovely Londoner hotel @thelondoner with vegan catering for all guests. Look out for their clever advertising campaigns #AdNetZero

From breakfast with Debate Mate highlighting the power of articulation, education and participation, to our Campaign Ad Net Zero Awards, where we celebrated the best of sustainable advertising, it’s been a week of inspiration all round. A special mention goes to our Grand Prix winners: ⭐ UK: MG OMD & ITV for Department for Energy Security and Net Zero - ‘Warming the UK up to low carbon heating systems with a trusted British soap’. ⭐ International: dentsu denmark for VisitAarhus - ‘So much to enjoy, so close to you’. While MG OMD and ITV wove sustainability into the storyline of Emmerdale, avoiding separate shoots and doubling Google searches for “heat pumps” on air dates, dentsu Denmark teamed up with Visit Aarhus to target eco-conscious travellers, encouraging rail travel to reduce tourism’s carbon challenge- all while raising funds for forest preservation with Good-Loop AND tracking and optimising emissions reduction using dentsu’s GMSF-aligned media carbon calculator. What did the judges have to say? On the UK Grand Prix- [This work] “creatively leveraged the Emmerdale audience to drive awareness of heat pumps to a previously untapped audience at scale. The innovative creative approach, through a combination of advertising and content, has helped to show how this new technology can be a more normal part of everyday life for millions." On the International Grand Prix- [This is a] “case study to that can be replicated by any travel and tourism brand looking to build more responsible visitor growth by targeting audiences where it can offer fast, attractive and more sustainable transport links to travellers. It arrives just as the world’s travel and tourism sector faces major challenges in shifting long-established behaviours and habits.” See our full write up here: https://lnkd.in/evvjR75E
