We are grateful to be selected as one of the mentees for The Amplifier 2025 – Employment Track, alongside BagoSphere and DeafTawk. This opportunity means a great deal to us. For years, we have been committed to advancing disability inclusion through training, employment pathways, and lifelong learning and being chosen for this programme affirms the importance of building ecosystems where persons with disabilities can thrive with dignity and independence. Empowering Every Journey: Inclus & Institute of Technical Education-SG Enable Internship and Employment Support Programme At Inclus, we are deeply grateful to be part of this nationwide initiative to enhance the employment journey of individuals with special needs. This effort, announced by Second Minister for Education Maliki Osman during the MOE budget debate on March 6, underscores the importance of inclusive employment pathways. The ITE-SG Enable Internship and Employment Support programme is a crucial step in ensuring that students with special needs receive the right job coaching and workplace support to thrive in their internships and beyond. By working together with ITE, SG Enable, and industry partners, we can create a more inclusive workforce where everyone has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully. A key pillar of our work is the role of Life Skills Coaches, who equip students with essential workplace readiness skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and adaptability. These foundational skills not only boost confidence but also ensure smoother transitions into employment. At Inclus, we further support this process by embedding Inclusive Recruiters, who help employers streamline hiring processes, provide tailored onboarding strategies, and foster inclusive workplace cultures. This end-to-end support model makes it easier for businesses to embrace inclusive hiring while ensuring long-term success for both employers and employees. Earlier this year, Inclus had the privilege of joining an insightful discussion hosted by the Diversity and Inclusion and Women in Business committees, featuring Catherine Little, Chief Operating Officer for the UK Civil Service, and Nikesh Mehta OBE, British High Commissioner to Singapore. The session brought together passionate advocates to share real-world practices in fostering inclusion, equality, and leadership within organisations. It was an inspiring exchange of ideas, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the conversation especially in the area of disability inclusion. What stood out most was the chance to engage in genuine, solution-driven conversations with leaders and changemakers who are deeply committed to fostering inclusion and equality within organisations. From policy frameworks to lived experiences, it was a space where people not only discussed the challenges but also explored practices that drive meaningful change. Inclus is at the University of the Arts Singapore (UAS) career fair from 26 to 28 February 2025! UAS is Singapore’s first arts university, founded on an alliance of Singapore’s foremost arts institutions, LASALLE College of the Arts (LASALLE) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Under this arrangement, the two institutions operate as distinct entities yet allows students to access opportunities from both schools. Thrilled to meet many young aspiring talents in the Arts such as Design Communication, Advertising, Design Practices, Fashion, Animation and more. Inclus had the privilege of running a diversity and disability inclusion workshop for Millennium Hotels and Resorts, led and facilitated by our multi-disciplinary team. Being one of Inclus’s earliest and longest hospitality partners, we built the workshop based on rich experiences and close working relationships with the various teams across Millennium Hotels and Resorts. The workshop was designed to be engaging and interactive to provide an in-depth understanding of how to interact with persons with disabilities (PWDs), while featuring real-life case studies of PWDs hired by Millennium Hotels and Resorts and supported by our life skills coaches over the years. There were many thoughtful discussions and heartfelt sharing from various teams on their experiences in working with colleagues with disabilities, and we learnt of plenty of behind-the-scenes and unsung work across different people who stepped up to play their part in creating a more inclusive workplace!
