What an inspiring few days at the COP30 Climate Summit in Belém! 🌍 Together with Norway’s Minister of Climate and Environment and our local partners, we celebrated a major milestone for renewable energy in Brazil with the opening of two new hybrid solar plants in Bahia ☀️ ✅ 274 MWp of clean energy added to Brazil’s grid ✅ 111,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided every year ✅ A hybrid setup combining solar, wind and battery storage for reliable power ✅ Local jobs, training and infrastructure that benefit nearby communities Rapid deployment of wind and solar power is the fastest and most affordable way to cut global emissions on the path to 2030. The 1.9°C scenario is still within reach, but only if we accelerate the energy transition. A huge thank you to everyone at Statkraft and our partners who made this possible. Your commitment is what turns plans into progress and ambition into action 🌱

Let’s hear it for the sun 🌞 Old, gassy, really quite hot, and delivering renewable power to the world at historic scale: there are lots of reasons to love the sun. In fact, in June this year alone, the sun was the largest source of energy in the EU. Globally, our analysts project that solar could be the world’s dominant energy source by before 2035. Not bad for a 4.6-billion-year-old ball of gases. Explore more about solar’s unstoppable rise: https://lnkd.in/d-FA8dD8

Nothing to see here: just a test evacuation from a wind turbine approx. 70 metres in the air. In early October, our team at Kjøllefjord wind park conducted a series of safety training exercises with the awesome folks at Kjøllefjord Ambulanse 🚑 The exercises were based on first aid and ambulance response to a cardiac arrest in a nacelle (the box at the top of a wind turbine). While weather didn’t allow for the full exercise (safety first also counts during safety trainings), but the brilliantly-named Sar-Queen helicopter was given a tour of the turbine and got to practice evacuating personnel from the nacelle. Going forward, Sar-Queen will plan procedures for evacuation from wind turbines based on experiences from this exercise. Big thanks to Kjøllefjord Ambulanse🚑 for the amazing video.

We are proud to announce the commissioning of the Zerbst solar park, Germany’s largest solar battery storage hybrid power plant under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). ☀️ The 46.4 megawatt solar farm generates almost 50,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, enough to supply approx. 14,000 households with clean energy and save 32,000 tons of CO₂ each year. 🔋 The 88 battery cubes with their 16 MW capacity can store up to 57 MWh of surplus electricity, which can be released into the power grid when no solar power is being generated, helping to stabilise both the grid and electricity prices. This major energy transition project is the first of its kind for Statkraft and another milestone in our mission to renew the way the world is powered.

Big news from the COP30 climate summit in Belém 🌍☀️ We have inaugurated two major solar hybrid power plants in Bahia: Morro do Cruzeiro Solar and Santa Eugênia Solar. Together, they will add 274 MWp of clean energy to Brazil’s grid, producing more solar power than the entire annual output of Norway, and cutting 111,000 tonnes of CO₂ every year. These aren’t just solar farms - they combine solar, wind and battery storage to keep power flowing even when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing. And beyond clean energy, they bring jobs, training and infrastructure improvements to local communities. This is climate action in practice⚡
