Last Friday at the Workplace Pride Gala 2025, I had the honor of receiving the Game Changer of the Year Award for the Employee Resource Group's work at Lenovo in advancing inclusion and reaching the Ambassador level of the Global Benchmark Index. I extend my gratitude to Workplace Pride for nominating and shortlisting Lenovo in so many categories. From Network of the Year, Ally & Role Model of year to getting the most important. My peers from the ERG and I were in awe—this recognition truly reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusion and diversity, and very much earned at Lenovo. Inclusion is not just a cultural priority; it is a business accelerator that strengthens performance, fuels innovation, and supports long-term organizational resilience - beyond creating a workplace and community for everyone. 🌈 Roaring Out, Bright Beings Embracing Diversity 🐒✨ What a magical night at the 2025 Workplace Pride Impact Awards Gala at the beautiful Beurs van Berlage! The air was electric with the spirit of inclusion under the theme, “Follow the Rainbow Road to Inclusion.” As always, I came prepared with a persona. So, this year, Rob came to life! Taking the dress code of Art Deco glamour and emerald elegance to the sky, Rob is a camp and glam vision: a Flying Monkey from the Wizard of Oz meets Roaring Twenties Hollywood glam. My look was pure Flying Monkey Realness: emerald aesthetic, dramatic feathers, 'monkey pants' with fur detailing, and gorgeous heels. Adorned with emerald jewelry and a sleek, high-pony, I was living proof that inclusion is fabulous! 💚 🌟 A Night of Impact and Inspiration The Gala was a powerful reminder of the incredible dedication to LGBTIQ+ inclusion. While I wasn't shortlisted, it was a profound honour to be nominated for Volunteer of the Year! A girl still gotta show off so let me share the nomination: Alex Bakhuis, Co-Chair of Shell Pink Pearl NL, has been a driving force for LGBT+ inclusion across Shell. A passionate advocate and strategic leader, Alex has helped shape a culture of belonging and equity through action, education, and visibility... They exemplify inclusive leadership, inspiring others to stand up, speak out, and help build a more equitable Shell. I would also like to share a truly unforgettable highlight: When Frans Everts (President-Directeur Shell Nederland) asked me to come on stage with him to accept the trophy for Shell achieving Leader status on the global benchmark. This powerful symbol of leadership standing shoulder-to-shoulder representing our community meant everything to me. So, from the bottom of my heart thank you Frans! 💖 Celebrating the Pink Pearl Team An evening like this is only possible because of dedicated hearts and hands. It was such a pleasure to celebrate with the Shell Pink Pearl NL team. They are the people who make the real magic happen every day. Deze week staat m’n LinkedIn vol met awards Begrijp me niet verkeerd. Ik hou ervan. Goed werk moet beloond worden en merken die het verschil durven te maken, verdienen het om in het zonnetje gezet te worden. Maar afgelopen vrijdag was ik bij een awardshow die er, wat mij betreft, écht toe doet. Die van Workplace Pride. Een award voor mensen en bedrijven die zich inzetten voor een inclusievere werkplek. Die ervoor zorgt dat mensen op hun werk zichzelf kunnen zijn. Beter presteren. En gevoel hebben dat ze er mogen zijn, welk letter in het alfabet ze ook zijn. Op het podium werd ook mijn vriendin Renée Lacroix in het zonnetje gezet (facking trots), omdat ze zich, samen met haar team (Meryem Hocuk, Tom Boertjes, Roos Klaassen, Trude Buitenhuis) én naast haar normale baan, inzet voor een inclusievere werkvloer bij Eneco. Even laten nam Karen De Lathouder (Management Board Eneco) de award ‘𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧’ in ontvangst. En dat is ze.  Ze laat zich zien.  Spreekt zich uit. En inspireert ook mij om dat ook vaker te doen. Dus als je dit leest: Je mag er zijn.  Je wordt gezien. En je doet ertoe. Inclusiviteit op de werkvloer is geen vinkje. Het is een vereiste om mensen te kunnen laten floreren op de werkvloer. Vrijdag had ik een gevoel van trots dat niet met een award te vangen is. Trots dat ik mag zijn wie ik ben. Dat ik mag houden van wie ik hou. Maar vooral trots op alle mensen in die zaal, die zich stuk voor stuk inzetten voor een werkvloer waar iedereen zichzelf kan zijn. 🌈 𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚 𝙯𝙞𝙟𝙣 𝙜𝙚𝙬𝙚𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙜 🌈
