The Community Management API enables developers to manage LinkedIn company pages on behalf of clients and access related account details (admins, roles, follower details) and analytics, including comments, reactions, and other page update activity. Page Management
Page Management: Use Organizations and Brand APIs to create, update, and delete organization and brand information. Create and manage company posts, comments, and reactions while monitoring member engagement. Use organization access APIs to find admin roles for members and all admins for organizations. Organization lookup APIs help find organizations, brands, or schools using vanity names or primary organization types.
Page Analytics
Track post analytics and company page performance with:
- Follower Statistics: Retrieve lifetime and time-bound follower statistics for organizations
- Page Statistics: Retrieve lifetime and time-bound view and click statistics for organization or brand pages
- Share Statistics: Retrieve lifetime and time-bound share statistics with aggregate data across selected date ranges
- Social Metadata: Access social actions (reactions, comments) on shares and posts, both organic and sponsored. Provides reactions content type functionality, expanding beyond likes and replacing the existing socialActions endpoint
- Video Analytics: Gather analytics about a video entity. The API provides the following metrics:
- Watch time
- Video views
- Video viewers
Member Analytics
Track post analytics and member performance with:
- Follower Statistics: Retrieve lifetime and time-bound statistics on followers for a member.
- Post Statistics: Retrieve lifetime and time-bound post statistics for specific posts or members

Create and manage posts, comments, and reactions while monitoring engagement on behalf of individual profiles.
Employee Advocacy
Enable brands to leverage employee networks for content resharing and amplification via employee profiles. Features include:
- Organization Social Actions Notifications: Notify members about LinkedIn Company Page activity
- People Typeahead: Discover members for @mentions in organization posts and enable page admins to search followers by keyword or vanity URL
Program Tiers
The Community Management program includes:
- Development Tier: Initial approval with limited API call volume
- Standard Tier: Full access requiring upgrade from Development Tier
When applying for Standard Tier, provide a screencast video demonstrating each use case specified in your access request form, matching the use cases described in the Standard Tier access request form.

1. How do I gain access to the Community Management API if I already have Advertising API access?
Follow these steps to provision Community Management API for your current developer application:
- Create a new developer application with the same company page as your Advertising API
- Apply for Community Management API Development Tier access
- Upon approval, complete the Standard Tier access request form and submit a screen recording of your developer application for Standard Tier upgrade
- Once approved, request Community Management API Standard Tier access on your existing Advertising API developer application. Enter your new developer application's client ID in the access form to skip most questions
2. What do I do with my newly created developer application after my existing Ads API application has Community Management API access?
The newly created developer application was used for verification purposes only and can be discarded.
3. What are the updated API rate limits for Community Management API Development Tier?
Default API rate limits for Community Management API Development Tier have been increased:
- Per App: Increased from 100 to 500 requests
- Per Member: Increased from 10 to 100 requests
4. Why is the Community Management API access request option grayed out in developer.linkedin.com/developers?
Only request Community Management API Development Tier access with new developer applications that don't have access to other API products.
5. Can the Community Management API product be added to an existing app?
Yes, follow the steps in FAQ #1.
6. How do I get access to the Member Post Management program?
r_member_social is a closed permission. We're not accepting access requests at this time due to resource constraints.
