Evangelising the cities of Africa, through word and deed, in partnership with the Church

About us

African Enterprise has been evangelising the cities of Africa through mission in Word and Deed in partnership with local churches for almost 60 years! We’ve only just begun… Our passion to proclaim the Gospel is carried out primarily through evangelistic outreaches, or ‘missions’ , in the major cities of Africa. We believe that all people – from street children to presidents – need to hear and be changed by the Gospel! African Enterprise has played a pivotal role in Africa for the past 60 years in bringing peace and reconciliation during conflict, bringing hundreds of thousands of people to church and providing vulnerable people with new life options through apprenticeship programs. Our commitment to the Great Commission and glorifying God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is made possible through our team of evangelists located in ten countries throughout Africa, mission volunteers through churches in Africa and across the world, and all our supporters around the world.

  • On Sunday, 14th September 2025, Botswana hosted its inaugural National Leadership Prayer Meeting at Boiphotso Hall, Gaborone—bringing together 297 national leaders under the theme: “Rebuilding Our Nation’s Morals through Prayer, Love and Accountable Leadership” (Leviticus 6:12). Presided over by President Advocate Duma Gideon, the gathering united Cabinet ministers, the Speaker of the National Assembly, city mayors, and church leaders in a powerful moment of reflection and renewal. Dr. Master Matlhaope, General Secretary of the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA), delivered a stirring keynote, urging leaders to build national development on the pillars of Freedom, Virtue, and Faith. African Enterprise played a key organizing role, drawing from its legacy of hosting National Prayer Breakfasts across South Sudan, Kenya, Burundi, Malawi, South Africa, and now—Botswana. Dr. Lutangu Lubasi, AE Botswana Mission Director, shared how prayer can be a strategic tool for reconciliation and governance. The response was overwhelming. Many described the event as a spiritual turning point for the nation, with growing momentum to institutionalize the Prayer Meeting in Botswana’s national calendar. This is more than an event—it’s a movement. Prayer is becoming a tool for development, and African Enterprise is honored to walk alongside Botswana in this journey. • In the streets of Botswana’s communities, far from headlines and platforms, a remarkable movement continues to unfold—steady, faithful, and deeply rooted in love for the gospel. Since 2018, a group of African Enterprise (AE) associates has been quietly shaping spiritual landscapes with an unwavering commitment to evangelism. It began when one of the associates, inspired by a life-changing encounter with African Enterprise’s Bridge Out training in Grahamstown, South Africa, returned home to Botswana with a renewed passion. Sharing the experience with friends sparked something immediate—“We are in,” they said. That simple affirmation grew into a consistent rhythm of outreach, grounded in church partnerships and a shared longing to see lives transformed through Christ. Every third Saturday of the month, come rain or sun, the team gathers. Their numbers may fluctuate—sometimes twelve, sometimes just three—but their purpose never wavers. Whether it’s a holiday weekend or a hectic season like the current lead-up to the September 2025 Gaborone Mission, they press on. “We can't wait for September,” Delight explained. “We have to do it.” Evangelism, for them, is not an event on the calendar; it is a lifestyle. Their method is practical yet strategic. By partnering with local churches, the team ensures that those they reach are connected to local church within walking distance—a reflection of AE’s philosophy of stratified evangelism. Contact information is handed over to host churches, setting the stage for discipleship and long-term growth. It’s an intentional model that intertwines outreach with sustainable spiritual care. The strength of this movement is found not in institutions, but in people. Ordinary people. People with families, jobs, and daily demands, yet fully committed to the extraordinary work of sharing hope. As Delight expressed with heartfelt conviction, “Out of just ordinary people, God can still do something. People who are busy with their own things, but can still dedicate their lives to winning souls.” It’s this belief—that God moves mightily through everyday obedience—that drives them. Now, as the Gaborone Mission approaches, anticipation is growing. The Kenyan community in Botswana has generously committed to hosting at least 50 missionaries for the event. Delight, representing the heartbeat of this grassroots movement, humbly carries the weight and hope of many. “We are people from different churches, from different countries, but with one mandate: to make sure every person in Botswana hears the gospel.” What’s unfolding in Botswana isn’t simply a buildup to a mission—it’s a testimony. A testimony of resilience, of unity, and of a vision too great to be postponed by circumstance. As African Enterprise prepares for its September mission, it does so not by stepping into a vacuum, but by joining hands with those already sowing seeds in faith. #stratifiedevangelism #AEonMission #Gaboronemission2025

  • Kisumu City-wide mission happened in June, 2024. The mission bore great yields as over 11,000 people committed their lives to Jesus! With the Nakuru Mission only 15 days away, here is a peek into the mission experience through the eyes of Dr. Cornelius Huwa, the International Missions Manager and AE Malawi Team Leader. "I had to haul my three bags quickly through the corridors of HomeCare Guest house. It was 5:37 am. 7 minutes later than when the breakfast was to be ready. Well, I was not hurrying up because of the food, in case you care to know. I had arrived at HomeCare Guest house in Nairobi, from Lilongwe, a day before and I had been looking forward to meeting Brother Roberts Charles, New Team Leader of AE Tanzania, and Brother Joel Kasoka, New Team Leader of AE Zambia. They had arrived around midnight, and I was fast asleep at that hour. They surely had hardly slept when the alarm clock came buzzing, reminding them that their journey was not over yet. They were heading to Kisumu, Nairobi was not the final destination! Isn't it amazing that life has a way of throwing us into some comfort for a short while only to wake us up so early to remind us that this comfort is not the destination? Peter in the Bible also thought he and the two other disciples had arrived at the final destination on the mount of transfiguration. They said "gentlemen, this is it. We have arrived", only to be reminded by Jesus that they were to get off the mountain and keep this tent construction conversation to a minimum😂😂. A story of a disciple of Christ is interesting! 😅 I managed to carry one bag into the cafeteria, leaving the other one outside. Upon making simple calculations, I realised that I could easily leave this one bag behind with Irene at HomeCare, then pick it up in 10 days time as this time, my reasoning managed to get louder than my emotions. I felt it would be easier to leave one bag and travel with the other two. So, I left that bag in the caring hands of our hostess Irene, at HomeCare. I am reminded that on my journey as a disciple of Christ it is easy to worry about so many things when the truth is that not everything really deserves the attention we give it. Somethings, no matter how louder they may call us to worry about them, they need to be ignored. Of course, make proper assessment of the risk before you ignore the call. 😂😂. You may be sorry for ignoring. How did I calculate the risk? Well, the bag I left behind had a suit in it which I felt I might not need in Kisumu. But I realised that my senior Brother, Dr. Brian Mugwidi, who is also on this trip to Kisumu, never dares to leave his suits behind. So, if an assignment will beckon requiring me to put on a suit, I would surely rush to Brian. Meeting the new team leaders Robert and Joel over breakfast, was incredible! After breakfast, we headed out for Kisumu, the mission ground! Part 1. Register for this year's Mission via this link; https://lnkd.in/dyb9tzEf
