Yesterday, at our headquarters in Milan, we hosted around 30 Young Professionals (YPs) from the #SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers) for the 2025 Beyond the Borders (BtB) initiative, organized by the SPE Italian Section! This year's #BtB brought together YPs from Europe and Africa to tackle the critical theme: 💡 "Energy Policy: Supply Security and Sustainability" The event, introduced by a speech by Max Branchi, our Chief People, Safety and Environment Officer, focused on leveraging technological innovation and soft skills to balance secure supply, accelerate decarbonization, and build resilient energy infrastructure.  👉 We also opened the doors of our innovative Drilling Training Centre to this delegation of YPs for an immersive experience, where our colleagues guided them through cutting-edge technologies and training solutions shaping the future of drilling operations.   It was a pleasure to host this crucial multidisciplinary discussion on the future of the energy sector! #Saipem #EngineeringForASustainableFuture #BeyondTheBorders #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #Innovation

ReNova #ChemPET, the chemical recycling project for PET jointly developed by #Saipem and #Garbo, has been selected among the projects identified to receive funding under the EU Innovation Fund 2024. The total funding amounts to approximately €15.5 million and will be disbursed following the signing of the Grant Agreement with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), expected by March 2026. The EU Innovation Fund is one of the European Union’s main instruments supporting low-carbon technologies. For this round, the Commission selected 61 projects across 18 countries, including four from Italy.    The plant, scheduled to start operations in early 2029, will have an estimated annual capacity equivalent to recycling over 250 million PET bottles, which will be converted into new, high-quality raw material for the textile industry.  👉 The project is based on the innovative ChemPET technology, which enables the depolymerization of PET into new high-quality material, even from coloured or complex plastics as well as polyester textiles, and represents a significant evolution compared to traditional mechanical recycling, thanks to simpler, safer, and more sustainable processes. The recognition granted by the EU Innovation Fund confirms the strength of the collaboration between Saipem and Garbo and the robustness of the ChemPET technology, which is set to contribute to reducing emissions and strengthening the green chemistry value chain in Italy and across Europe. 🎓 We welcomed the students of the “Sustainable Design for Energy Carriers” course to our Milan Headquarters.   This program, created in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano, dives deep into the most relevant topics in EPC projects (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and the energy transition. The course brings together 73 students from all over the world, guided by 17 of our colleagues as lecturers and industry experts.    Over 54 hours of lessons and hands-on activities, participants explore cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of energy, including:   🔃 Natural gas production and treatment, focusing on purification, dehydration, and NGL recovery, plus hands-on experience with the ASPEN HYSYS® process simulator.   🧊 LNG liquefaction, transport, and storage, all the way to power generation via combined cycle.   🌱 The new frontiers of energy: green hydrogen, blue ammonia, biofuels, synthetic fuels (e-fuels), and carbon footprint assessment (GHG footprint), with a spotlight on European taxonomy and decarbonization strategies.    🗣️ Students also had the chance to visit our offices and learn about the employee experience at Saipem, from the selection and induction process to the role of process engineers in EPC projects. They also observed mock technical interviews to help them prepare for their future careers.    This initiative blends education, innovation, and real-world experience, helping build the skills needed for a sustainable energy transition. 💡    #Saipem #EngineeringForASustainableFuture #EnergyTransition #EPC 

In line with our commitment to #innovation and #safety on construction sites, we present LiSa Hyper Harness, a new technology in the field of workplace safety. It is a smart safety harness that monitors the fastening of workers’ safety belts during operations at height, helping to protect them and reduce risks.   🚨Its functioning is simple and effective: in case of missing or incorrect connection to the fall protection system, the harness emits an immediate acoustic signal, just like a car seat belt.
