Yesterday we held our very first 𝟴𝗮𝘁𝟴 dinner, and the energy around the table was nothing short of inspiring. #8at8 is a new initiative by the Modern Agriculture Foundation (MAF) designed to create intimate, meaningful spaces where members of our #Women_Leading_Foodtech community can deepen connections, exchange ideas, and spark real collaboration. It’s one more way we’re working to strengthen this #community, because stronger connections lead to smarter partnerships, bolder #innovations, and better products for a better world. Our first gathering brought together a remarkable group of women, each bringing her experience, curiosity, and generosity to the table (quite literally, and such wonderful vegan dishes you all brought!). The conversations flowed, new shared circles were discovered, and by the end of the evening future collaborations were already taking shape. The Israeli FoodTech pioneer Remilk has officially launched its animal-free dairy products in collaboration with Gad Dairy, making sustainable, fermentation-based milk available in cafés and retail chains across Israel. This partnership marks a turning point for the local FoodTech industry - combining scientific innovation with commercial execution to redefine what dairy can be. Big news in the FoodTech world. Israeli company Believer Meats, founded by Prof. Yaakov Nahmias has secured approval from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) to start commercial production and sales of cultivated chicken in the U.S. - making it the first non-US startup to reach this milestone. Why this matters: • It signals a major regulatory breakthrough for the alternative protein sector. • It shows that cultivated meat is moving from proof-of-concept into market reality. • It sets a precedent for global players and for innovation ecosystems worldwide. A major step forward for Israel’s FoodTech ecosystem – and for the North.
