    One of the first sessions of MAPIC 2025 was presented by Savills. Marie Hickey, Director of Global Retail Research and Larry Brennan, Head of European Retail Agency unveiled their exclusive analysis of Europe’s most attractive retail cities and the concepts and brands to watch.  What to remember? Paris and London remain the key targets with high retail sales, and we can see that Madrid and Amsterdam are gaining momentum with a growing appeal to international tourism and lower prime rents. Brussels and Antwerp are also showing encouraging trends. Savills recorded 81 international new entrant brands, mostly in the Fashion, F&B and Health & Beauty industries. American brands are leading the growth, representing 25% of store openings by international entrants. Japan, Canada, Australia and China are rapidly emerging. #MAPIC2025 #RetailExpansion #RetailMarket

    During MAPIC, we had the opportunity to listen to two major retail leaders: Keldenich Gregor, Vice President Expansion & Real Estate at Fressnapf Immobilien- und Vermögensverw. GmbH, and David Sundström VP Network at Pandora. Sponsored by Balabala (Semir Group International) and in partnership with Ingka Centres, this session moderated by Dan Innes (Innesco) was a unique occasion to discuss expansion efforts across different markets, countries and stages. Gregor Keldenich Gregor shared his strategy for a smaller but more efficient store format, and the importance to find support from landlords for a rapid rollout. The brand plans to open over 140 stores short-term. David Sundström David expanded on the brand's three-year expansion plan and efforts to upsize the stores while maintaining a feeling of intimacy. He highlighted sustainability as a major focus with targeted and measurable savings. With two very different brands and two specific strategy, the discussion was a great dive into retailer-landlord relationships and expansion strategies. #MAPIC2025 #RetailExpansion
