Meet Our People – Hassan Malik   Everybody meet Hassan, our R&D Manager at Applus+ Nray in Toronto! 🙌   With a strong Mechanical Engineering background and Level 3 expertise in Neutron Radiography, Hassan plays a key role in advancing new technologies, ensuring radiation safety, and supporting specialized Non-Destructive Testing.   He's been working closely with the McMaster Nuclear Reactor, where Applus+ Laboratories performs Neutron Radiography, and leads automation and system development projects that help strengthen aerospace safety. Driving forward with EMC: what’s new in ECE R10 revision 007?   ECE R10 Revision 007 came into effect a few months ago, reshaping how Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing is performed for vehicles and electrical/electronic sub-assemblies (ESAs).   We conducted an in-depth analysis of this revision to highlight the most important changes and their impact on the automotive industry. Here’s what you need to know:   • New Testing Method: The reverberation chamber method (ISO 11452-11) is now a recognized alternative for ESA immunity testing, promising better uniformity and repeatability. • Extended Frequency Range: Radiated immunity testing now extends up to 6 GHz, addressing the rise of high-frequency technologies in modern cars. • Faster Measurements: FFT-based techniques are permitted for emissions, potentially speeding up testing. • New Emission Limits: New specific limits for vehicles charged in non-residential environments are in place, along with clearer guidance for charging mode emission tests. • Refined Pulse Modulation Requirements: Introduction of PM2 and PM3 pulse modulation for radiated immunity, including radar wave simulation. • ADS/AVAS Criteria: Failure criteria established for Advanced Driving Systems (ADS) and Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS).   These updates are critical for ensuring safety and performance in next-gen automotive technologies.
