Preparing food to perfection and delivering it to daycare centers, schools, or nursing homes with a perfect cold chain - for commercial kitchens, this is often a challenging task that is accomplished under a great deal of stress. The box from CoolCooking GmbH&Co.KG aims to change that: it cools pre-cooked food and then reheats it on time, all in a single device. With their concept, the founders of the Sauerland-based company have succeeded in maintaining the quality of meals from the kitchen to the plate. The compact technology in the box's mobile door plays an important role in this – including two induced draft fans and four centrifugal fans from ebm-papst. Until 2021, ventilation systems dating back to 1994 were still in operation at the Bruck Regional Hospital in Styria – with high energy costs and growing repair requirements: "Our ventilation systems were getting on in years. Spare parts were also becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. So it was clear to us that we had to take the step of modernizing in order to reduce costs and ensure long-term operational reliability," explains Christoph Gassner, technical operations manager at LKH Hochsteiermark. A retrofit was needed: ebm-papst supplied RadiPac EC fans, and Fischer Luft- und Klimatechnik planned and modernized 45 systems step by step while the hospital continued to operate. The result: greater efficiency, better air quality, and smooth hospital operations - an important contribution to KAGes' Climate Strategy 2030, which focuses on greater energy efficiency and sustainability in all state hospitals. For 12 months, the Female Cross Mentoring Programm (FCMP) by Maschinenraum brought together talented women and experienced female leaders from different family-owned companies. The goal was to strengthen female leadership, enable cross-company exchange, and prepare women for their next career steps. At ebm-papst, we are proud to have been part of the very first cohort and even more so to have hosted the closing event at our global headquarters in Mulfingen. It was inspiring to see how much the mentees have grown, how openly experiences were shared, and how powerful cross-company networks can be when it comes to empowering women in leadership. We are happy that our colleague Nicole Amon participated as a mentee in the first cohort and that Nadine Herwarth will join as a mentee in the next round. A special thank you goes to our Chief Human Resources Officer Dr. Sonja Fleischer, who co-initiated the program and actively supported it. And of course, to the Maschinenraum team and all participants for making this initiative a success! After years of standing empty, the historic Hotel Flüelerhof in the Swiss Alps in the canton of Uri is coming back to life – thanks to new tenants and extensive renovation work. One particular challenge was the aging ventilation system. “A complete replacement was out of the question – the system was difficult to access and dismantling it would have been too logistically complex,” explains installation manager Jannik Gisler from Clima-Nova AG The solution: RadiFit fans from ebm-papst. As a plug-and-play solution, they could be integrated into the existing equipment without much effort and now provide fresh air, greater efficiency, and less maintenance. Innovation and sustainability go hand in hand: We won the German Sustainability Award Products 2026! 🏆🌱 The ebm-papst Group received the German Sustainability Award Products 2026. This marks the third time we have received this prestigious recognition - this time for the oil-free turbo compressor CompaNamic in the “Climate” transformation field. CompaNamic enables highly efficient and resource-saving operation of heat pumps and refrigeration systems. As a central component in heating and cooling technology, it significantly contributes to energy savings, climate protection and circular economy. The jury was also impressed by the product's holistic impact throughout its entire life cycle. The turbo compressor operates completely oil-free, uses the natural refrigerant propane and does not contain any harmful PFAS compounds. This not only increases energy efficiency but also simplifies disposal at the end of the systems' service life. “This award confirms the success of our ‘Innovation for Growth’ strategy.
