#TBT to the day our journey toward becoming a global logistics leader began! 📈 Exactly 25 years ago, Deutsche Post AG shares were traded for the first time on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Marketed as the “Yellow Share,” the IPO marked the peak of the privatization of the former Deutsche Bundespost. Just a year earlier, the company had started its international expansion with the acquisitions of Danzas and AEI. DHL followed in 2002 and Exel in 2005, transforming Deutsche Post from a national postal and parcel service into a global logistics leader. What if trucks could drive cleaner with a little help from the sun? ☀️ In Sweden, 10 DHL Freight trucks are now fitted with solar panels through a pilot with Green Energy Group, testing how sunlight can help cut fuel use and CO₂ emissions. The panels feed power directly into the truck’s battery, running systems like the tail lift and refrigeration unit. Less strain on the generator = more energy saved on every trip. Ever wondered what 240,000 metric tons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) actually means? ✈️  In our case: a major step towards emission reduced air logistics. DHL Express just signed a multi-year SAF agreement with Phillips 66, one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. air cargo sector. And the impact is big: 🔹 ≈83 million gallons (240k metric tons) of SAF secured, 🔹 Produced at one of the world’s largest renewable fuel facilities, 🔹 Up to 737,000 metric tons of lifecycle GHG emissions expected to be reduced. Why does this matter? It’s another milestone in making lower-emission air transport a reality - not someday, but today. Recently, we spent 24 hours inside DHL warehouses, immersing ourselves in the capabilities of logistics robots. Among our findings was the revolutionary “Stretch” robot by Boston Dynamics - the first of its kind in a DHL warehouse in UK. We also explored the efficiency of 6 River Systems picking robots, Locus robots, and a wrapping robot. These advanced machines are designed to handle demanding physical tasks, empowering our colleagues to focus on value-added activities that drive our business forward.
