At the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Germany, researchers have reimagined the urban building facade using our GoFa™ cobot to 3D-print clay modules that double as nesting spaces for birds and small animals. The result: a living façade prototype that not only provides habitats for urban wildlife but also helps regulate building temperature. A proof that #automation can serve both people and planet. A collaboration between the Chair of Digital Fabrication (Julia Larikova, Prof. Dr. Kathrin Dörfler) and the Chair of Terrestrial Ecology (Dr. Fabio Sweet, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Weisser), this project showcases how robots, design, and ecology can work hand in hand to create more sustainable cities.
