    ICYMI... 👀

    Profil von Christof Roduner anzeigen

VP Engineering & CIO, Co-Founder at Scandit AG

Big milestone for our team: We’ve just launched Scandit SDK 8, our most advanced release to date — designed to embed intelligence right at the point of data capture. Powered by the Scandit AI Engine, SDK 8 helps businesses and frontline workers adapt to context, automate data capture, and accelerate workflows, turning scanning into a real workflow enabler. Here’s what’s new: ➡️ AI-powered Barcode Scanning – Detects the right barcode even in cluttered environments and automatically falls back to OCR for unreadable codes. ➡️ MatrixScan Pick – AR-guided workflows that let you scan multiple items at once, with up to 6× faster completion times. ➡️ Smart Label Capture – Simultaneous barcode and text capture, over 10× faster than manual entry. ➡️ Expanded ID Capabilities – From ID Bolt 2.0 to mobile driver’s licenses, bringing more flexibility and trust to identity verification. More info here: https://okt.to/4wthSv Huge kudos to everyone at Scandit who poured their expertise, creativity, and heart into this!

More recalls = more operational burden 💡

    Profil von Jessica Grisolia anzeigen

🍝 Eggs, beef, cheese… what do they have in common besides being ingredients for tagliatelle? (feel free to challenge my recipe) These are just some of the products recalled by major US grocers over the past few months due to fears of contamination or incorrect labeling. And the situation is no different in other countries… Naturally, you might be wondering, “What’s up with the increase in food recalls? Is food becoming less safe?” Not quite. What’s actually changing is food safety technology. Better detection, faster reporting, and more transparency mean authorities are catching issues that used to slip through. Great! But there’s a flip side… more recalls = more operational burden. Grocers now need to locate and remove affected items across thousands of SKUs in hours, not days. That’s where automation helps. With our Smart Label Capture solution, store associates can automatically capture expiry dates and batch numbers right on their devices — no manual typing, no delays, no errors. Because the safer our food supply chains become, the smarter our data capture needs to be. P.S. Always stay on top of recalled items as a consumer! As we say in Italy, “fidarsi è bene, ma controllare è meglio” — trust is good, but checking is better. Especially when it comes to your health.

One scan is all it takes: Dua Lipa uses Yuka, and implicitly Scandit! Please respect our newfound celebrity glow 💃 🪩 🕺

Our biggest growth secret? No ads. No endorsements. Just word of mouth. 💚 This post of Dua Lipa came as a total surprise — 100% organic, born simply from her genuine love for our app. People often ask how we’ve reached over 75 million users without spending a cent on ads or endorsements. The truth is: it’s all word of mouth. That’s because from day one, our mission has been clear: 🔍 Make food and beauty transparency simple, science-based, and accessible for everyone. ✊ Push brands and even politicians to uphold higher standards 🕊 And to do it all while remaining completely independent from industry influence (not a single brand has ever or will ever pay us!). Word of mouth might sound like a fragile strategy, but when millions of people, including voices like Dua Lipa, stand behind your mission to improve consumer health, no marketing budget can compete with that kind of authenticity. Thank you to everyone who shares, supports, and believes in Yuka. Let’s keep spreading the word, because there’s real power in collective change. ✊

Some new ID scanning capabilities coming your way! ⬇️

    Profil von Christian Kündig anzeigen

    Director of Product

NEWS: Scandit SDK 8.0 introduces game-changing ID scanning capabilities! 🪪 For the first time ever, our SDK can: 🧳 Scan unstructured travel documents — like visa stickers, e-visa confirmations, and invitation letters. 🔐 Read mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs) directly from system wallets. 🎨 Enable fully branded, white-labelled ID verification experiences that look and feel native to your app or website. For airlines and travel providers, this means: 1. Verify all travel documents early to avoid last-minute check-in issues and reduce passenger drop-offs. 2. Create a seamless, trust-building passenger experience that reinforces confidence and loyalty — in just 5 minutes. 3. Stay compliant with ETIAS, ESTA, and ETA regulations while keeping full control of passenger data and privacy. For retailers, delivery providers, and travel companies: 1. Verify physical and digital IDs — from passports to mDLs — with a single camera view. 2. Speed up age-restricted deliveries, car rentals, and airport ID checks with one seamless, secure scan. 3. Future-proof identity flows with ISO/IEC 18013 support and Apple/Google Wallet integration. From travel to retail, Scandit SDK 8.0 makes identity verification faster, simpler, and smarter — wherever it happens. Discover more: https://okt.to/AYnCP2

How does the new Scandit SDK 8.0 help tackle retail chaos? Jessica explains 💡

    Profil von Jessica Grisolia anzeigen

Director Industry Solutions| Product Management| Product Marketing| Retail Expert

Retail backrooms can be chaotic — overlapping barcodes, ticking expiry dates, ten things to scan at once… Good thing the new Scandit SDK 8.0 thrives on chaos! It adapts to context and automates data capture across the everyday challenges that slow teams down: 🧾 Expiry checks with Smart Label Capture (no more label-squinting). 📦 Restocking & receiving with MatrixScan Pick’s AR overlays (no more manual counting and forgetting what you've scanned or being confused with exceptions). 🛒 Inventory counts & tote mapping with MatrixScan Count (no more guessing which tote to place the item in). 💰 Price accuracy captured automatically in one scan (no more errors and slow typing of prices and weights). More on the smart data capture glow up: https://okt.to/UlhWZM P.S. Recognize anyone below?

The best kind of AI is the AI that knows when to back off 🫡

    Profil von Raffaele Farinaro anzeigen

    Product Manager at Scandit

Picture this: you’re scanning a shelf packed with barcodes. The system flies through them, until it hits a wall. Too many codes, too close together. Most AI systems would just guess and move on. They’re wired to sound confident, even when they’re guessing. In the new Scandit SDK 8.0, we went the other way. When it encounters a dense barcode scene - multiple labels, messy layouts, zero clarity - it doesn’t panic or pick one at random. Instead, the scanner pauses, adapts the UI, and gives control back to the human. You aim. It scans. Workflow continues. Why? Because real intelligence isn’t about having all the answers. It's about knowing the limits of what you know. This approach is normally referred to as “human in the loop” in machine learning and genAI. In product design, it’s called not annoying your users 😅 I also like to think of it as AI with manners, smart enough to help, polite enough to defer. Let's rev the Scandit AI Engine 🏎️

The way data capture works is changing. With the new AI-driven Scandit SDK 8.0, intelligence and context are now embedded directly at the point of capture — where information first enters the workflow. Rather than just capturing information, it now supports the person behind the scan, understanding their intent, adapting to context, and offering guidance in real time. In my latest blog, I share how this shift transforms scanning into a true workflow engine that helps people act faster and with more certainty: https://okt.to/g2QMB4
