🌆 Building Sustainable Cities: Why It Matters Over half the world’s population lives in cities — and while urban areas drive innovation and opportunity, they also face major challenges: 🚨 9 in 10 urban residents breathe air that fails WHO standards 🌍 Cities consume 60–80% of global energy and emit 75% of carbon emissions 🏚️ Over 1 billion people live in slums, most vulnerable to crises like COVID-19 Yet cities also hold the solutions. By investing in inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable urban spaces, we can: ✅ Reduce inequality and pollution ✅ Strengthen resilience to climate change ✅ Improve quality of life for all Sustainable cities aren’t just an environmental goal — they’re essential for economic growth, health, and social stability. 🔗 Learn more from the UN and supporting research: http://bit.ly/47DL6au https://bit.ly/4nyWTwA #SustainableCities #UrbanDevelopment #SDG11 #ClimateAction #Resilience
