Today I had the chance to showcase two of Aramco’s UAV inspection solutions to Mr. Wail Al-Jaafari, Technical Services EVP, and Mr. Khalid Al-Qahtani, Engineering Services SVP, during the 19th Middle East Corrosion Conference (MECC). FalconScan attaches magnetically to piping and assets, then deploys a small robotic crawler equipped with a camera and UT tools to access difficult areas and collect accurate inspection data without scaffolding or exposing inspectors to risk. Our Caged Inspection Drone enables safe inspections inside confined spaces helping us detect corrosion and defects while giving teams a clear picture of asset condition. Both technologies significantly enhance safety, speed, and efficiency raising the bar for inspection excellence across Aramco.

TotalEnergies have developed an innovative approach to transform the way they inspect their FPSOs, thanks to what they call the "digital inspection project". Basically, this involves the use of remote inspection technologies (RITs) and a specialized digitalization process that is captured by sending drones, like the Elios 3, equipped with high-resolution cameras and LiDAR sensors into the water ballast tank, which means no man entry is required. This new process replaces traditional inspection methods like scaffolding, rope-access, and rafting, which enhances safety and data quality but also delivers a 45% cost reduction compared to traditional human inspections.
