Today, we recognize World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week. AMR occurs when bacteria, fungi and parasites no longer respond to medications, making it tougher to fight infections. At North York General, our Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) helps keep patients safe with appropriate antimicrobial use, considering drug type, dosage, route and duration of therapy. Thank you to our ASP team for your dedication to world-class patient care! #WAAW2025

For the past few years, Kailey, a former NYG Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) patient and her family, stop by to celebrate World Prematurity Day with our staff and share encouraging words with current NICU parents! The team also commemorated the day with adorable infant footprint paintings and dressing in purple! A big thank you to our NICU team for the care and dedication you have for our tiniest patients and their families 💜 #WorldPrematurityDay

This #WorldPhilanthropyDay we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the North York General Foundation and our generous community for helping us transform our care spaces, programs, and equipment so we can continue to provide World Class Care, 24/7! See below for a glimpse of donor impact at North York General!
On #WorldPhilanthropyDay we pause to honour something extraordinary: the quiet, steady generosity that shapes the heart of North York General Hospital. Philanthropy is woven into the fabric of our hospital. It strengthens the care offered in moments of uncertainty, surrounds families during life’s first breaths, and supports patients through their most vulnerable moments. Everywhere you look at NYGH, philanthropy is there: * In the life-saving equipment our clinicians rely on… * In the welcoming spaces where patients and their loved ones find comfort and care… * In the programs that push boundaries, ask new questions, and imagine a better future for our community. Today we offer our deepest gratitude to the donor community. Because of your remarkable support, our hospital continues to be — and will always be — here for life. If World Philanthropy Day moves you to give back, we invite you to join others in supporting the care that uplifts our community every day: https://nyghfoundation.ca #WorldPhilanthrophyDay #NYG #HereForLife #ThankYouDonors
