  • Proud to see our Chief Investment Officer representing BOF at the Ontario Critical Minerals Forum! Ontario’s critical minerals sector is key to building a competitive, sustainable economy, and BOF is helping make it happen by investing in the enabling infrastructure that supports this growth. Our approach focuses on: ✅ De-risking transformative projects ✅ Crowding in private capital ✅ Embedding Indigenous equity participation Through initiatives like the Indigenous Opportunities Financing Program, we’re creating models for inclusive economic growth and long-term prosperity. Critical minerals are now one of BOF’s six priority sectors, and we’re ready to partner with investors, Indigenous communities, and industry leaders to unlock Ontario’s potential. Chief Investment Officer at Building Ontario Fund | Board Director

I had the opportunity to join a panel at the #OntarioCriticalMineralsForum this week alongside sector leaders to discuss how we can unlock investment in Ontario’s critical minerals – a conversation that matters for our economy and global competitiveness. At Building Ontario Fund we are investing in infrastructure that makes this sector possible, from energy to transportation and housing, and more. Our goal is simple: catalyze private investment in projects that deliver measurable public value. What sets us apart: ✅ De-risking transformative projects ✅ Crowding in private capital ✅ Enabling financial participation for indigenous partners in infrastructure assets Critical minerals are now one of BOF’s six priority sectors and represent one of Ontario’s most strategic long-term opportunities. We look forward to working with the industry, investors and communities to help unlock this potential. #OntarioMining #investing #CriticalMinerals #EnergyAndMines #IndigeneousPartnerships

• Investment Alert: Massive Student Housing Development in Toronto We’re proud to announce our role in a landmark investment that will reshape the student housing landscape in downtown Toronto. In partnership with Cedar Podium, this project will deliver nearly 1,400 new student beds at Toronto Metropolitan University, more than doubling student housing capacity at the University. BOF played a pivotal role in moving this project forward through our investment of approximately $200M in this multi-phased initiative. This first phase of the project will deliver a 21-storey tower leveraging $83M in debt financing provided by BOF. The innovative financing model that made this project possible brought together a globally recognized development firm and a visionary university to deliver affordable options to students. This is more than a real estate development - it’s a model for impact-driven urban innovation. • For Take Our Kids To Work Day, on November 5, we welcomed grade 9 students to our office for a day filled with learning and discovery.   Participants walked through the investment journey from screening potential projects to drafting a public announcement.   Executives Michael Fedchyshyn, Alena T., and Anca Drexler, CFA, ICD.D kicked off the event with inspiring remarks, followed by our People and Culture team leading a fun icebreaker game.   The students were then guided through an investment/portfolio board game focused on capital allocation, balancing returns, impact, and risk – including event cards that impact return and public benefit. The Communications team helped with developing strategy for sharing a project announcement and then the participants presented and got feedback on the projects they chose to “invest in” as part of the game.    Shout out to everyone involved with making the day so memorable for our participants, including: Sissi Makris, Siff Zhang, Melanie Umali, Jenna Falvo, Michael Fedchyshyn, Alena T., Anca Drexler, CFA, ICD.D, Josh Cavric, CFA, Lucy Ruan, CFA, Andrei Bursugiu, Andrew Cole, Ryan Durgy, Tanya-Sue Orrett, Iulia Syrie, Danielle Townley, Lee Warren, and Kiran Penumala.

  • We’re proud to share that the Ontario Government has expanded our mandate to include critical minerals as a sixth priority sector. This will allow BOF to invest in enabling infrastructure - such as roads, energy, and housing - that can accelerate the development of Ontario’s critical minerals sector. In doing so, we are engaging Indigenous partners as co-investors and co-owners in critical minerals related infrastructure projects.

The Ontario Government today added critical minerals as the sixth priority sector for Building Ontario Fund, an important step toward achieving our mandate as a catalyst for high-impact infrastructure investment across the province. With this expanded mandate, BOF will help unlock the infrastructure needed to enable one of the most strategic industries of our time. From roads and rail to energy transmission and workforce housing, we’re ready to help move projects from vision to reality. Our investments in this rapidly burgeoning sector will help build the backbone of Ontario’s future economy in partnership with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. Thank you to Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy and the Government of Ontario for your continued confidence in BOF and our mission to unlock enduring public benefit through innovative financing solutions with public, private, and Indigenous partners.

  • 🍁 Lest We Forget🍁 As Remembrance Day approaches, @BuildingOntarioFund honours the courage and sacrifice of those who have served—and continue to serve—Canada. This week marks Veterans’ Week in Ontario, including Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8, recognizing the vital contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis service members. On November 11, we encourage all Ontarians to pause for two minutes of silence or attend a local ceremony to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy thanks to those who have defended them. Let us come together to remember and give thanks. #RemembranceDay #VeteransWeek #LestWeForget #OntarioRemembers
