A shared vision taking shape. On October 9th, Alberta Minister of Infrastructure Hon. Martin Long and other officials toured the SAIT Student Campus Centre. The visit began with a project overview and progress presentation, including how digital construction tools are being used on site to support efficiency and accuracy. From there, the group completed a site orientation and walkthrough to see the work firsthand. It was a great opportunity to showcase the work being done and highlight the collaboration between the Government of Alberta, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), and our Bird team.

Exciting Progress at The Redeveloped Parkinson Recreation Centre Site. 👷 Today, crews are pouring the raft slab that will take all day to complete with multiple concrete pumps! This is a critical foundation element that sets the stage for the next phases of construction. To put this in perspective: ►The concrete volume could fill 36 standard 20-foot shipping containers. ►It includes 240 tonnes of rebar, equal to the weight of 48 African elephants. Saturday marked a major milestone for the Burnaby Lake Pedestrian Overpass - the successful move of the bridge from the laydown area to its permanent location across Highway 1 in Burnaby, BC. This was a monumental effort that took months of planning, coordination, and teamwork. It’s a true demonstration of what’s possible when skilled teams come together with precision and purpose. We’re proud to have reached this milestone safely, collaboratively, and with excellence alongside our partners!
