Kristi Ward

Kristiana Ward, principal, Lake Nokomis Keewaydin Elementary

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Kristiana Ward as the principal of Keewaydin, and we want to take a moment to give her a massive and well-deserved shout-out!

In the world of school leadership, competence and warmth rarely come in such a perfect package, but Principal Ward delivers both every single day. Stepping into our school, you instantly feel the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere she has cultivated. She doesn't just manage; she connects. Whether you're a parent, a student, a staff member, or a first-time visitor, she makes sure everyone feels seen and valued.

What truly sets Principal Ward apart is her approach to supporting her staff. She understands that the best way to care for our students is by caring for the dedicated teachers who work with them day in and day out. She is consistently creative in finding time and unique opportunities for her staff to build genuine relationships with one another. By fostering a strong, cohesive, and supported teaching team, she ensures that every classroom is a place of excellence and compassion.

From implementing creative staff development to always offering a friendly greeting and a listening ear, Principal has made Keewaydin not just a place of learning, but a truly nurturing space for our children.

Thank you, Principal Ward, for your extraordinary commitment to our students, our teachers, and our entire community!” - Deb Snell
