Job Description

  • Take full ownership of end-to-end flight preparation and import/export operations, ensuring compliance, and seamless coordination across all critical freight terminal functions.

Qantas Freight is Australia’s largest independent air freight services business, moving over 4000 air freight shipments across more than 500 destinations globally.

If successful, you will take ownership of end-to-end flight preparation and import/export operations within the freight terminal, ensuring seamless, on-time performance aligned with aircraft schedules and customer commitments. You’ll maintain clear, proactive communication with internal teams and airline stakeholders while upholding strict quality and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include supervising cargo build-up, managing dangerous goods, coordinating transhipments, and optimizing cargo uplift. As the primary liaison for operational changes, you’ll ensure smooth coordination across all critical functions.

You’ll have –

  • Previous experience in a logistics, freight or airline environment
  • The ability to work a 7-day rotational shift roster including night shifts
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid computer literacy
  • The ability to perform manual handling tasks, with capacity to lift up to 25kg
  • Able to thrive both in team settings and when working independently
  • Strong time management skills
  • Previous face-to-face customer service experience and skills
  • The ability to obtain a Dangerous Goods Acceptance Certification
  • An open Drivers licence and the ability to obtain an Air-side Drivers Licence
  • Cleared and met all requirements of an ASIC
